Hi everyone, just trying to get some posts goin on in our OHio chat room, im from cincy and i want to be a travel nurse eventually...i also want to specialize in pediatrics maybe become an NP sometime in the future....

Work at the Cleveland Clinic on a Med/Surg/Tele floor - unbelievably busy and level of care required is high but I love it!!

I am a first quarter student getting ready to start clinicals on Thurs! I'm from Middle North Western OH. Hardin Co. I think I would like to go into geriatrics or maybe even an oncology nurse...someday:roll

Hi everyone, My name is April I live near Toledo Ohio. I just graduated as a CNA in a LTC facility, this spring I will be entering the LPN program. I'm not sure what school I'll be attending. Any ideas?

Good luck everyone

Hey everyone. I am from marion, ohio but am currently a student @ Miami University in oxford, ohio. i am finishing up my BA in anthropology and taking a few prereq. classes right now. after i graduate from miami i am heading to an accelerated secondary degree program for my BSN in columbus.

columbus area ICU/CCU/OHRU would love to start to travel but dont want to go at it alone.

Specializes in lots of specialties.

Maybe people could get to know each other and travel together.Seems like a good idea and I would eventually like to do so also

I am a traveler in DC (originally from Ohio) and my Husband is looking to come to OSU for law school. I wanted to take a travel position in Ohio to check out the hospitals before taking a staff position but (I am a nicu nurse) I can't find any travel positions for NICU in columbus...(cleveland and cinci yes but not columbus)

Anyone know if OSU, Childrens, or riverside take nicu travelers and if so through which companies?

Also, any inside info on Columbus nicu's? good/bad/otherwise....

Thanks!!

Elizabeth

That seems like a great idea! I want to travel too~

I'll reintroduce myself since the last time i did was the first post lol...

Im Erica, born and raised on the east side of Cincinnati. Went to undergrad at THE Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, got a BA in psych and soc. Went on for my general masters in nursing (MN) in Cincinnati at a small private school. After graduating nursing school 8/06 I moved to Phoenix, AZ, where it is always sunny and warm. I took a position in the neuro ICU and i'm loving it...difficult but very interesting. Someday I would like to travel, my first stops being: NYC, San Francisco, Seattle, FLA Keys, Hawaii, possibly Texas...who knows. Eventualy I would like to go back to school for CRNA.

ebth2306: I lived in columbus for a few years; worked as an EMT while there... in my experience, Riverside Hospital is the place to be! They are AWESOME! You can look them up; they've always have plenty of nursing jobs available - and they are very close to OSU. Pay is MUCH better than OSU too... if you need any advice about where to live, etc... please let me know!! Good Luck!!

I never worked at Riverside in COlumbus but I was a pt. there 3 times. All three times it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. It was completely awful. THe nurses were downright mean, the rooms were dirty...once I was in a room with sticky blood on the floor....I just hated hated hated it. However, I was in the Er and MRI/Ultrasound so in all fairness I never made it to the floor.

wow... how long ago was that? i have been a patient there as well (also in the ER) and had an awesome experience. I have also been in the ER with my mother as the patient - they treated her like gold. That's crazy the difference in experiences... mine were very recent (within the past year).

it was late 04 ish....it could have been isolated incidents! Like I said, I never made it to the floors, they could be really nice.
