  1. northwest columbus is the safest... upper arlington, clintonville, grandview, dublin, deleware (county just north of franklin). I would stay away from the east side of columbus if you can help it. i lived in upper arlington for two years and never felt "unsafe". I had my car broken into once - but it was on campus... actually, it was a jeep wrangler in the summertime... top down.....my fault! anyway - hope this helps! the west side is pretty safe too but slowly becoming not AS safe as before... (ie hillard area). if you have any other questions.. please let me know :)
  2. wow... how long ago was that? i have been a patient there as well (also in the ER) and had an awesome experience. I have also been in the ER with my mother as the patient - they treated her like gold. That's crazy the difference in experiences... mine were very recent (within the past year).
  3. i'm glad you had a good experience at OSU!! :) I didn't mean anything negative towards nursing students...i was just informing.... trust me... i AM a nursing student right now; it seems like the majority of nurses dislike our presence :)
  4. i lived in columbus for awhile and worked as an emt there... in my opinion.... riverside = better than OSU... OSU = teaching hospital; ie little nursing students follow you around and/or do your job. on the flipside.... lot of nice looking med students around :) just kidding!! It seems like the working environment at riverside is better... and i think the pay there is better too..
  5. Hi! my recc. is to go to the Columbus dispatch website and view their classifieds... they usually have about 2 or 3 pages of RN adds. I lived there for 2years (wasn't a nurse at the time). I worked as an EMT while there - and LOVED Riverside hospital... you can check them out online.. they've always have plenty of job openings; great work environment too. They are associated with some other Columbus Hospitals - check out ohiohealth.com. Ohio State University East Hospital is probably closest to Port Columbus - ok hospital; but the University pay is not the best. if you have any more questions... feel free to ask!! Where are you planning on living? i wouldn't reccomend the east side....
  6. ebth2306: I lived in columbus for a few years; worked as an EMT while there... in my experience, Riverside Hospital is the place to be! They are AWESOME! You can look them up; they've always have plenty of nursing jobs available - and they are very close to OSU. Pay is MUCH better than OSU too... if you need any advice about where to live, etc... please let me know!! Good Luck!!
