Hello Everyone! This thread is for students applying to the BADNAP program for Spring 2021.

Micro was the only science I didn't take in my bs program wwwaaayyyy back in the day (I graduated in 1998), so I took it at Redlands last fall since it was less expensive and closer to home, but now the student portal on the OCCC website is saying I haven't taken Micro...I sent in my transcript over a month ago and they have confirmed receiving it. I am hoping to get a chance to call tomorrow at lunch to verify everything, makes me nervous since it's getting closer to the app due date and classes have already started for the fall so I can't enroll in Micro if I need to. It's stressful!

I sent it in over a month ago and they have confirmed that they have received it, so I'm still not sure why the portal is saying I am missing Micro. I am hoping to get a longer lunch at work tomorrow so I can call and have someone look at the portal with me. I don't want to have to retake it again, it was by far the most difficult science class I've taken!
@dara.young hey I meant to ask you about this! I spoke to the nursing advisor today and she said they do not use the OCCC student portal at all when reviewing applications for the program and that the only thing that matters is what is on your transcripts. Were you told something different? She explained to me that all that is required is that all transcripts are sent in and that they use them along with the courses you check on your application to ensure the course are in fact completed or pending. She said many people applying to the program do not even have or know how to use the OCCC student portal since they are attending other schools. I just want to make sure I’m not missing something in regards to the student portal?
@nurse_rilicia2 yes that is correct, I had talked to an advisor earlier in the year and she said they would not go through nursingcas this year.
@nurse_rilicia2 I just signed up for my TEAS I hope to take it sometime in September.
Does anyone know what type of calculator can be used for the TEAS exam or does it matter? also do they give formula sheets out at all or do we just have to know how to solve the problems when it comes to the math section?
Well I’m almost ready to take my TEAS tomorrow, see how I do and go from there if I wanna retest before app date!

It’s a built in computer one- the last time I took it- but that was 3 years ago- I’m going into this one with light refresh to see what I miss and score and change my study style- I’ve got bad test anxiety so I’m trying new tools ?

@Ashley_Michelle77 Thank you so much for the info! I was told several months ago to check the portal after being admitted to the college to keep track of transcripts, etc, but when I called Friday (ended up having to speak to different people to get an answer), they did tell me that they just needed to have my transcripts on file and the verification of prereqs would take place on the actual application. I feel much better now :) Well, about this part of it, anyway!
When I took the TEAS back in January, there was a calculator built into the exam to use. I don't believe any formulas were given that I can recall, but I do remember the math section being pretty basic as far as knowing how to calculate perimeter, volume of containers, solving for x, things like that.

Yes you are correct, a 70 is the minimum needed! I just wanted to try to get a bit higher to be more competitive, as well as I am applying at 2 other schools where a higher score would be helpful. I will still be in tier 2 because I’m currently in my pre-req (human phys) so no matter what I get on the TEAS I won’t be tier 1 until December ?
