Hey everyone! Im back for my second application into the ADN program at OCC ::sigh:: As I did in the thread I created last year, I am creating a new one for all those applying to the nursing progam for next fall. Lets keep in touch and keep one another updated. Good luck guys!!! :)

anne.....cant tell you how many tests ive taken when i walked in i was feeling good and when i walked out i was like HUH?

i dont know what the LPN program is like but stress is a daily occurance in the RN program. seems like there is always something to stress out about. foundations is a weeder class. its the first class where they try to weed out the ones that cant handle the program. relax and reivew as much as possible in the next week. try not to stress too much over the finals, all you can do is your best and you will either know it or you wont stressing about it wont help either way.

congrats AMY...........i have a pharm instructor for a class, they talk about your class (2013 graduating class that is) all the time. makes me think about when i was in pharm. seems like yesterday one minute and an eternity the next. enjoy the summer and relax.

Studying for my final as we speak. I'm so nervous but realizing more and more how much info I really did retain over these past 8 weeks in Pharm. Freedom (or more like the calm before the storm) in T-2 days!

I can't get the new flu shot until August. This makes me nervous as it's so close to the Sept. 1 deadline. grrrr. Anyone else? Everything else is done except for that. *grumble*

I spoke with the nursing department and we need the flu shot before we get to our ECF clinical not by Sept 1. The nursing dept knows that the new batch is not available until fall and that the students employed by hospitals receive the shots in the fall from their employer.

Thanks whour, the LPN program is basically the same exact thing as the first year of the RN program. We dont learn less, the only difference is that we have a transitional class toward the end of our program because we are taking the NCLEX PN after the first year so we can go work right away while we finish the other 12 months of the program.

anne...........i didnt mean to imply that the LPN program does less, sorry about that, i just didnt know what your classess are like......i know you dont have psych like the RN's do.........which your not missing anything in my opinion anyway. im sure your under the same amount of stress that we are, since a lot of your instructors are our instructors too.

did you take your final in fundamentals yet?

my final is Monday for Med Surg........done with the first year, holy crap cant believe i can even say that.

Our final is tommorow too! Very much looking forward to the summer. Big accomplishment to get thru each semester isnt it? Have you lost very many students this last semester? I think we have lost about 10 people since we started and we are only 1 class so we all get to know each other very well. Its sad when people dont make it for whatever reason. I always keep thinking, it could be me next. 1 thing goes wrong in your life and there is no way to play to catch up. This summer I am trying to get my life and finances in order for next semester. I have let a lot of things go that would normally have been done like my taxes, Dr appointments, etc. I only wish we had more time off between semesters next year. Good luck on your final tommorow, Ive about reached my breaking point with flashcards, lol.

free at last..............1st year done. that was not easy. Anne, we wont know how many are actually left until Sept clinical list comes out probably end of August. i know a bunch of people that failed a class somewhere along the way and wont be joining back in the fun in Sept.

it is sad when someone doesnt make it (well most people its sad, some not so much) there is only a few people who had to drop for personal reasons. most dont make it past med surg or foundations. the stress is overwhelming. felt like i was going to crack a few times myself.

anyway i hope you passed your final. have a great summer.

Just got my final back, 97/100 very pleased. Dont think Im not still stressing about med-surg, lol. Cant wait until school is over, hope first job is not this stressful.
