OCC - 2010 applicants / 2011 ADN prospective students

Hey everyone! Im back for my second application into the ADN program at OCC ::sigh:: As I did in the thread I created last year, I am creating a new one for all those applying to the nursing progam for next fall. Lets keep in touch and keep one another updated. Good luck guys!!! :)

Congratulations everyone!!! It was such a great surprise to get the mail today...wasn't expecting it until next week! ;) I am planning on the Monday afternoon Pharm class.

Congrats to all my fellow nursing students..........do yourselves all a favor and take pharm in the summer, taking it in the fall is a good way to set yourself up to fail.

finger printing can be done at the oakland county sheriff

if they didnt offer the accelerated program in your paperwork then there isnt one, but if there was one then yes it would have lowered the gpa

if anyone ever wants to ask me a question privately feel free to do so. im happy to help out with advise or homework ......if i can remember what it is your studying. this program is very stressful and other than your fellow students there is no one else to rely on.

I wish there was an accelerated!!!! Is it possible they might receive it later on, and those additional students who would have made it with the grant will get a spot in the program ?? So Im wondering what was the Average for the lpn program this yr

no there is no way they will send out the accelerated letters later.........sorry........heres why. the accelerated program was run by the DMC. DMC hasnt hired any of the last 90 accelerated students they took into the program. last year they actually delayed sending out the letters by a week because DMC was taking its time to decide if they wanted to participate again.

Does anyone know where we would do the fingerprints and background check?

School will send you a package where to get it done. Background check is done online but you have to follow the school's instruction. All you have to do now is wait for the package and save as much as MONEY you can! There are many things you have to do and that cost a lot of money!

In the mean time, I recommend you to get MMR, chicken pox, hepatitis B titer done if you don't have the document to prove for that. Otherwise, get a vaccination. Chicken pox is very expensive-it costs around $150/dose.

I dont think so because some people that did not get accepted recieved there letters on saturday

Okay because at my school I should know by the 15 but someone else got their acceptance letter on the 13th.

I have been crying because I am scared and fear that this is not a good sign since I haven't gotten mine yet (if there is one for me). I wont be able to sleep tonight that's for sure
