Hope this helps everyone with questions. It seems that there isn't a January course, but a Feb1st course and I guess we report at the end of January. I don't know how it all works, but this was definitely helpful for me. If you want to look at any other course here is the link:

"103 View 29 Mar 2010 30 Mar 2010 01 Jun 2010 52 Resident 2250 STANLEY RD STE 336 FT SAM HOUSTON TX 78234"

I am probably reading this wrong but it looks like the capacity is 52 for 29march-01june course. That is the course I requested and was told I would be in per the LTC who called with my assignment. I hope with a low # that I am definitely included. Is there a way to find out?

Specializes in EMT, ER, Homehealth, OR.

I would take it as there where 52 nurses where registered for that class and there would be the potential for 38 more seats in the class.

jeckrn- thanks, you are probably right. I wonder if there is a way to confirm that I am in that class without calling the LTC back, I am not sure if that would be cool or not, again this is ALL new to me.

I am waiting to hear which OBC I will be in. How did you find out your number? I would love to hear any other information you have as I didn't realize how long this process would take. Thanks

When I went to OBC I was in the reserves so I just was already drilling and had to wait until there was a seat open. It took about 8 months after I started drilling until I went to OBC.

I'm not sure who this question is addressed to? For me, when the LTC called to offer me my 1st assignment I told her I wanted to go to OBLC in March and she said ok. I hope all is scheduled and correct. I was told by my recruiter that I wouldn't get actual "orders" until close to OBLC date. Crazy, right? So everything I am planning is around the 29 March date.

JeckRN-- Do you know if it is possible to travel out of state on a weekend close to the end?

I went thru the reserve OBC back in 04 and we where there for only 2 weeks so I am not sure.

I keep forgetting that, even though you have told me before:-). How are things going at Ft. Stewart/Winn? I look forward to the day when I am finally there and moving on with life/career. Anything you think I should know about the base, hospital or Richmond Hill-please let me know, PM me. Thanks.

Almost done, graduate from my course on Dec. 17th, return to RH around X-mas. Will keep you informed of anything once I get back to Ft. Stewart, haven't been there since August. March will be here before you know it.

Thanks again. Good luck with the rest of your course. I also wanted to know, when you got your 1st active duty orders did it say how long your assignment is?

Specializes in EMT, ER, Homehealth, OR.

My orders stated that I have a 3 year duty obligation, but didn't really say at Ft. Stewart but the way it is written would make you think that it is for 3 years
