Yes, I agree it is not right, my husband nearly $#@* himself when we had to wait so long.

Update...

According to my LTC Chief Nurse we should be getting paid while in OBC. However the reservists often fall through the cracks. We are working to make sure that all my ducks are in a row before I leave (in less that two weeks) so I will not be put through any financial hardships.

What a frickin headache....:hdvwl:

If you speak with you UA prior to going to Ft Sam, you will get paid the same as the AD folks...meaning on the 15th and 30th of the month. The coordination is necessary prior to going depending on what type of person is your UA. My UA is a former 1SG and he is on top of all of the soldiers in my company and when they are going to school. There should be absolutely no question about getting paid while you are at BOLC.

I am going to talk to them when I get down there.....my UA is useless. (well known fact)

In the same boat here LT. No pay for an entire month is really going to be hard. I have went round and round with the PTB at my unit. No luck. Its the way the system is set up. Reservists get screwed all the way around in comparison to their AD counterparts. It is not right. It is no wonder why the retention rate for nurses and especially docs is so low. If there were a more military friendly administration in office, it would behoove us all to begin a letter writing campaign.... now... its a moot point.

I have heard you have to "go online" and register, or confirm your attendance at OBLC. How does one go about this? Just received orders this week.

No, I did do that. The some of the paperwork you will need to submit to your UA is the DA1059 which will be signed by your cadre (towards the end of OBLC) and your TDY expenses, which you will complete at the end.

The active duty pay.......ask your UA.

good luck
