What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

When I posted my post, I forgot to mention my poor mother's name. She is an Asian, born and raised. Her name is Kum Sun. Pronounced "Koom Soon". However, Americans have called her a variety of names...the most common pronounced "Kum Soon". Now, she just goes by Kim.

I love this topic...of course it could always be the Vicodin...nurse back!..Ok so here are my favorites and I'll swear on a Bible that I have takencare of these kids...Meconium, Container (mom thought it was a neat word), Dawn Spring (fellow RN), vienus (said like the planet..just spelled strangely, in fact she actually delivered night before last..without her husband because he's in jail following her labor check 3 weeks ago..mom had a screaing conniption during the vag exam, so he went home while she was still in triage and SHOT her mother five times..she survived..then called the hospital and said he was coming back to kill the doctor who hurt his woman..pee poor protoplasm?!..needless to say, the police removed the Doc from the hospital before he got there),

my exmother-in-law is named Joy..her friends say she is the most misnamed human being in the world. Cherish Dawn, another fellow nurse. I think my very favorite name is Handsome Stranger who was younger brother to Precious Beautiful..yes mom was a hooker although obviously one who never heard of birth control. One of my fellow workers, who is African American jokingly says if she has another girl she's going to name it one of three things..Nautica (pronounced naw tee ka) after her shirt, Niagara (nee a gara) after the starch or Shequeetha which she will spell sqprj'ietjha....but they'll call her Boo.

had a neighbor whose name (through marriage) was Ingrid Brunhilde Santiago! also my name (previous marriage) was Sheryl Farrell..hated it! My son is Harry Richard White Jr. ..note the Jr! I told his father (my first husband) that I would name him after him, but WOULD NOT call him Harry.it's mean to call a baby Harry. Worked with triplets once name Tom (who was an EMT), Dick (a nurse) and Harry *a chaplain) Smith! That's the God's honest truth. My brother John's real name is..get this..Nolton Johnson Jackson III and yes his son is the IV and swears if his expectant child is a boy, he will be the V !!!!!

We just had one in the last month named Unique. Now isn't that unique.
