Oakland University Accelerated BSN fall 2011 Cohort

Hi! I was wondering if anybody out there has interviewed for Oakland University's ABSN program for the FAll of 2011 cohort. I think it will be 3 to 4 weeks before we find out if we will get accepted or not. I wish everyone good luck and hopefully receive good news!

No offense but I find it hard to believe that OU would let someone in becaue they complained. That would be completely unfair and would give OU a bad repuatation.

Congrats nnarod!!! I'm glad someone's received some kind of communication after nearly a month of being on edge!

I agree prettygirl, that complaining is not the reason why nnarod got in, but i'm sure it brought more light to his/her situation and others that may have been on the same boat (e.g. if nnarod felt that there was no legitimate reason as to why he/she didn't get in.) Also, nnarod may have just stood out more amongst the candidates in this round of interviews vs. the last round. Admission is all relative based on who else is interviewing in your cohort....

I've also been told by the program head that not all qualified candidates are accepted due to space limitations... how they make cuts amongst the qualified is beyond me.

I still haven't heard anything either...

So I just went and checked my mail. In there was an acceptance letter!!! It was dated November 30th and was postmarked December 1st. :) I am so excited that I can barely contain myself! :D

Thank you! :) Now, there better be acceptance letters in your mailboxes when you get home. I can't believe I actually was chosen. I have been applying all over southeastern Michigan for the last 2 1/2 years. Finally. :)

Hello all,

I haven't been on here in awhile and decided to check what was going on today. I use to comment on a previous thread for the May 2011 cohort. Anyways, I was one of the ones that was rejected and just received my acceptance letter on Thursday and it too was dated November 30th. It has been a long road and I am so excited. Hopefully we can all keep in touch.

Good luck to everyone whether you were accepted to Oakland or not. Keep pursuing your dreams:-)

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking around reading the posts and want to send out a big congratulations to nnrod and evansmom! I feel like we have been struggling in this together! I too received my acceptance letter - I never got my hopes up due to the last tortorous time but I have to say the sweet reward of success is much worth the agony! I look forward to meeting you guys and working with you next year! Keep in touch because we are now really in this together!
