Hi there, anyone getting ready to interview in the next couple months for the Oakland University Accelerated nursing program? Thought this would be a good place in share experiences! Good luck!

Also, does anybody in the program already have any advice for the next couple agonizing months? Thanks in advance!

Yes, all of our classes and labs will be at Riverview.

Is anyone else having issues getting in touch with someone in advising?? I emailed and called and nothing. I am sure they are busy with the May class but I am trying to confirm they got my response form. I guess since I put so much into this, I want to be sure I am set. Maybe I'm a little over zealous. lol.

I just finally got a return call today from a message I left last week. She never answers her phone but usually returns calls in 2 - 3 days. My status changed on Friday the same day my deposit check cleared.

I actually called the Cashiers office and my check was already cashed. I guess they forward the form onto the nursing school and they update. I am just staying on top of things since I have heard they can be somewhat disorganized. You don't want to be left out the cold so to speak. From everything I have heard about accelerated programs - never assume anything - always double and triple check.

I mailed my deposit earlier this week. It doesn't look like they've cashed my check yet. Hmmm

SA: I mailed my deposit on Tuesday, it cashed on Wednesday and it took about a week for my status to change from Pre-Nursing to Accelerated nursing January 2011. So I guess the best thing to do is be patient with the process.

Hi all! I am new to this site but was just accepted to the January 2011 cohort. Congratulations to all of you that were also accepted. I can't wait to get started!

I live in Rochester and would love to do some carpooling when we get started. If someone set up a FB group or something similar, could you please let me know so I can join? I'd love to get to know some fellow classmates before we get started.

So my deposit check was cashed and my status changed to Accelerated Nursing BSN...finally. Too bad my start date didn't also change to January Good luck to those taking classes over the summer. As of last night, I am officially done with all pre-reqs. Yay!!!

SA: There's probably a decent chance you get moved up. I would tell them now that you are interested and check every few months. It can't hurt you to be persistent. Did you take the last three nursing courses?? If so, I am sure that will help your case in getting moved up. The only downside of having those classes done so early is you have to keep fresh on the material. I hope you get good news and move up to January. I'm excited. I got invited to interview for another school I applied to but I'm declining. Oakland all the way!!! Yay!!

I have completed the last 3 classes, so yep I'm ready to go. The extra time would give me a chance to get more money saved. Time will tell what happens.
