Evansmom you can go on Sail and look at the nursing courses schedule. Clinicals will not be there as they are not assigned until the right before your semester start. So the best idea you can get is the schedule that is in Sail.

Hey prettygirl5, I had the same concern/question about financial aid as I start in May. I contacted financial aid yesterday. Fall is the start of the financial aid year with a max of $12,000 for each year. So you would get $6K for fall and $6K for winter. Being that I am starting in May and did not take any classes this past fall or winter, I am still eligible for funds for this May. I don't know your start date, but you need to plan carefully if you are depending on loans to pay tuition.

I agree with some of the posters here. My husband is supportive, he even set up a home office for me. The problem is that whenever I go there, so does everyone else...the dog included. I decided the only way to get peace of mind and some serious studying done was to escape to the library or Starbucks for a few hours a week. I made big meals on the weekends that could be frozen and revisited during the week. Initially I felt guilty about spending time away from them, but later I realized it was necessary if I wanted to pass my classes. I have a teenager also and the best thing ever to get her to do chores was set up a schedule. The chore schedule is posted on the fridge and it is detailed for what to do on what days. She knows that if she doesn't do the chores that means no going to the mall, hanging with friends, or the worst (in her mind) taking away the cell phone. Needless to say, the chores get done. The key is finding what works for your family and for you to keep your sanity in the process.

Hey ej, Did you go to your personal doc for the Hep B vaccinations? If not, can you post the prices you have gotten for vaccinations? I have started checking around and so far this is what I gathered: Concentra: $97.50 MMR $76.50 Varicella $55.50 10 Panel Drug Screen $37.00 Physical Oakland County Health Department: Hep B-3 shots $75 MMR- $46 Tet and DP - $20

Hey evansmom, For the last group, we all interviewed during the first 2 weeks of march and didn't start getting letters until the beginning of April. So it was about a month before we heard anything. Good luck! I know waiting is agony.

My take is get it engraved with the RN. It will serve as inspiration. Obviously, your smart enough to become an LPN, and you are almost done becoming a RN. I say go for it!

There is also a link there with CPR course locations for 2010-2011

I remember reading in the OU nursing handbook, the vaccinations required, the criminal check, and even a listing of recommended places to take the CPR class. The CPR class must be the one for health professionals and depending upon where you take it the certification is good for 2 years. OU even lists the prices of those classes(not sure how often they update that info), but at least it's something to start with. So we all can keep ourselves busy this summer by at least getting the CPR class out of the way while we wait for the real fun to begin.

Okay I couldn't resist adding to this post. After paying off any outstanding debt then I can start wishing. These are my wish items: Designer shoes...Christian Louboutin to be exact Laser Hair Removal-NO I am not a hairy chick, I'm just tired of the same routine of shaving, tweezing and plucking(I have a personal thing against body hair...don't ask) A trip to Tahiti with a hut over the water(a delayed honeymoon since we never had one) and a Midnight Blue Harley Davidson Bike for myself

CONGRATS!!! Out of curiosity, when did you graduate? Do you already have a job lined up?

For those of you that know folks already in the nursing program at OU, do you know what materials we need right in the beginning? For example, uniforms, stethoscope, nursing kits, etc. I know it's early but I was thinking that if I could gradually buy that stuff and get it out the way, or have it gifted to me for mother's day, birthday, etc. that would be great.
