Hi there, anyone getting ready to interview in the next couple months for the Oakland University Accelerated nursing program? Thought this would be a good place in share experiences! Good luck!
Also, does anybody in the program already have any advice for the next couple agonizing months? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I had Patho and yes there are set exams/quizzes and two papers two (which are short). If you take the prof(think of Kitchen) I had, expect a quiz every week. It was more intense because you always had something due each week. I haven't taken Pharm or nutrition yet but I am signed up for Fall. Would love any insight anyone would have on those classes. Anyone can PM with specific questions.
Thanks for the insight. I took Nutrition this current semester. There were 4 exams and a short diet diary evaluation and they were all available on the first day of class so you can complete them whenever you want. I actually finished the class 6 weeks early so I could focus on Microbiology. There is a lot of reading (the entire book) but if you keep at it you can finish quickly.
Hi, for those who were accepted, I assume we all went ahead and turned in deposits. Does anyone know how/when we will be notified that we have a secured reservation for the program?? How many of you are for sure going Oakland?? I turned in my form and deposit and I am definitely going Oakland - even though I am waiting on two other schools. Thanks.
I paid my deposit last week onTuesday and by Friday my status had changed on SAIL. It now says Accelerated BSN (not pre-accelerated) and I actually registered for the first semester classes already.
Thanks WJ2010; I see they received and cashed my deposit check but my status still shows pre-accel nursing. I wonder if it's because I still need to take Pharm and Nutrition? Not sure. I may call to confirm because you never know with these things. I will register as well but it looks like a bunch of spots are open.
Hey Guys, I am accepted to the Winter 2011 cohort. I'm from Ann Arbor and so will be moving for the program. I'm not sure exactly where I should move to...? It would be great if I could find a roommate who's in the same cohort. Is anybody else considering trying to find a roommate while in this program? Dog lovers a must. I have an adorable 17 lb dog. Thanks :)
Hi all, I spoke with the nursing advisor this morning and she said that our cohort is not affiliated with one single hospital. We will be doing our clinicals with all the different hospital systems in the Detroit metro area. Sounds like it might be a little hectic but she said that most of the students really like it because we get exposed to all the hospitals, unlike the other cohorts. She also said that she might send us all a little email blurb to explain this.

I agree, I would call as well. My letter was dated on March 31st. I would call the person who emailed out the interview invitation. Good luck to you.
