Pre-nursing students applying for Fall 2020/Winter 2021 start date at Oakland Community College

Hello all ?

I am applying for Oakland Community College Nursing program in a few weeks and have loads of questions. Are you applying too? What's the GPA cut off? If you've graduated from or attended the program, how was/is it? Which is better, fall or winter start?

I am excited to apply and excited to meet other applying as well! We've got this!

@Asidelko Are you a priority one student? I wonder if that will help your chances at all.

I'm currently at Wayne State right now and I plan on doing their RN to BSN program once I've completed OCCs program (If I get in). I highly recommend WSU, I love it there. I'm choosing to go through OCC first to save some money and hopefully be able to work as an RN as I finish my degree.

good luck on the HESI! What resources have you been using to study?

I’ll be preparing to study for Chamberlain’s HESI if I get a rejection letter in the mail.

I'm also in the same boat- priority 1 but have less points because of the retakes so I’m on the lower side when it comes to the number of points I have :(

thank you! I have been using the HESI A2 book to study, same one that I used for OCCs

So all of my face-to-face lectures and labs at OU have been suspended for the remainder of the semester because of COviD-19...I sure hope OCC continues to have staff on Monday to send the letters out!!?

hey everyone! I've been silently watching these posts for a while now. After everything with coronavirus going on right now, do you think letters will be delayed? I hope not as this has been so nerve wracking ?

The post says all business will be still going and the college will still be open just not for classes so I hope it will be ! Also if you don’t mind me asking what is every one looking at in terms of points?

13.2 hear, after the conversation some one had with the counselor I've sort of lost hope for OCC nursing program. This is my second year applying. Great GPA but no points for retakes.

Kami I think you have a great chance based off of the points itll be more of a competition for enough spots since I think the number is 200-215 (I havent read the admission guide in a while so I dont know the exact #)

Has anyone talked to a counselor about our letters being delayed because of coronavirus? I've gotten mail as usual at my work, so the mail system is doing just fine.

Also, can you guys tell me your thoughts on this virus? I'm so confused on what to think. I'm not scared though, I just want the histeria to end so that my grocery store stops running out of toilet paper LOL.
