Pre-nursing students applying for Fall 2020/Winter 2021 start date at Oakland Community College

Hello all ?

I am applying for Oakland Community College Nursing program in a few weeks and have loads of questions. Are you applying too? What's the GPA cut off? If you've graduated from or attended the program, how was/is it? Which is better, fall or winter start?

I am excited to apply and excited to meet other applying as well! We've got this!

I’m hoping we get our letters on time and it is business as usual, but my son is home from Pre-school until April 6th. I just had surgery so I actually prepared my family a week in advance so I wouldn’t say we got lucky and avoided the hysteria because I’m still recovering. This is all too much. I try to watch the news and take in credible sources rather than social media.

I feel like we shouldn't panic but take it seriously and try to avoid public places. Because they cancelled schools, it's not a reason to go party ?.

Ugh I hope this ends soon and people are smart and safe. Hope it doesn't ruin my vacay to Hawaii either LOL.

This mass hysteria is causing more problems than the actual COVID-19 virus itself! Is it scary? Yes! Should we be prepping like it’s the end of the world? No! New viruses evolve, mutate, and spread. This wouldn’t be a huge cause for concern if people actually washed their hands, or stayed home when they are ill! The media has done a wonderful job of causing soooo much panic, and I can’t even wrap my head around it! OU has cancelled face to face lectures until the Summer semester. All of my classes and labs have been moved to online. I fully understand that! But this whole buying out stores, causing riots, stealing TP from hospitals and restaurants....it’s beyond ridiculous!

Has any one called the nursing office to ask if the letters will still be mailed out on time ?

tomorrow y'all! whose ready??? also, how is everyone holding up? I am struggling to realize the mass hysteria going on right now is not a dream. Y'all need to check in on this post so we can make sure everyone is doing alright, and has everything they need!

I’m so nervous for our letters! Good luck to every one I wish you all the best! Also, I agree... it seems so unreal. If any one needs anything please reach out to me. I by no means am hoarding toiletries, food or cleaning supplies , but I do have more than enough to give to someone in need. No judgement. I know many shelves in my city are still bare. ♥️
