Hello everyone,,

is is anyone here waiting for their acceptance letter to Oakland community college? Also are there any students here that is currently in the program? I am really pump to get started and is looking for any advice I can receive about the program in general.

Can someone tell me where we get our urine test and how we fet our criminal background cheched out?

There should be detailed instructions in the packet we received in the mail. Did you get one of those? :)

When you buy your drug test on the website, you also choose a location to have it done at.

Mel you have to order it online. For $97 the package includes instructions on how to get finger printed, where to go get your drug screen, etc.

I had a quick question for everyone. Does anyone know how much of a time commitment Foundations of Nursing will be? Hear anything about it from past/current students? (How many days/hours spent in class.. clinicals.. etc.) I know it isn't until the Fall (for me anyway!) but I was offered a job and am debating on whether or not to accept it because I am not sure if I will be able to put as much time as I need to into school. I don't want to accept it and then burn a bridge by quitting in a few months when the class starts. Especially since it is at St. Joe's Mercy Oakland and they signed a contract saying they will hire me as a nurse right out of school as long as I am good employee, lol! I would hate to pass it up, but of course school comes first.

Any insight anyone?

P.S. Still not registered for Pharm. Come on, nursing faculty... I've had enough of the waiting game already!

Jasmine - do you mind me asking what type of position you applied for/accepted? I am currently a manager at a clinic but won't be able to work my 9-5 job once school starts but need something :/ :/

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the background check and drug test results back?

It takes the background check 12-18 weeks overall including your FBI fingerprinting. The drug test results are usually available within 24-48 hours. You can actually keep up with your progress and view the results on line....I hope this helps!

Soaring2018 - I took my drug test a week ago but my results aren't online yet..
