Oakland community college 2016 applicants

Published

Hello everyone,,

is is anyone here waiting for their acceptance letter to Oakland community college? Also are there any students here that is currently in the program? I am really pump to get started and is looking for any advice I can receive about the program in general.

Good luck to those starting pharmacology this May, keep us posted!

Will do! Hey Brie for the insurance part how do we get it? I'm a little confuse

On the website I filled out the quote which afterwards gave me the option to start my online application. I had to call to get some clarification though because I already work in healthcare and have a certification so I was confused too... which in case anyone else has that problem, if you already have a certification through the state then you can't get the straight student nurse coverage. You have to apply for coverage in relation to your current license/certification and add the student nurse coverage on after your application is aporoved. I chose to receive my approval via fax because its faster than the mail option. Also I just opted for it to start now but we dont have to have it until august per our packet. I hope that helped ;)

Don't know where to click once I'm on the website. I have no certification by the state for my job position at the hospital. Without making ur life any harder, can you dummy down the steps lmao?? Did you fill out any applications? How much did it cost?

You'll tap the blue line that says "Professional "...it'll expand and you'll click Apply Now. It will take you to a page to get a quote first, you'll select individual out of the displayed options, once you get the quote it will say exactly how much your yearly cost will be...mine was $57 because I am already certified. If you are not you may be able to get the student nurse option which was only $38 but don't quote me. If you accept the amount you will have the option from that page to complete the application online and it will ask for your personal info at that point. But even after completing the app you're not covered, you have to wait for the app to be approved and receive the certificate of coverage, but they charge your card immediately.. :sniff:

Lmao of course they will :arghh:,, they always do.. I dam near paid 40 dollars today getting my fingerprint:banghead:. But thanks a lot Brie that really helped. I'm assuming that I'm only paying whichever quote I get yearly and it won't be a monthly thing right?

$40??!?!? :nailbiting: I was told $10 at DPD and was a little annoyed... i guess i won't complain then. But yeah it's a yearly cost, so that's cool. No problem tho

I will definitely post as soon as I find out what day/time my pharmacology course is in the fall. I hope you guys do too. Let's all help eachother out! I personally like to study on my own but there are ENDLESS things we can help eachother out with. It's going to be so hard. Let's make it a little easier where we can:nurse:

Hey everyone,

Sorry to be redundant but anyone actually registered yet? I'm trying to get an idea of how much I the class and books are going to be. Hope everyone is getting along well in completing their package :geek:

Hey friends! How is the process going for everyone? I went for my urine test yesterday and my fingerprinting today. It is a tad overwhelming for me right now. My dad passed away Friday morning, so I am planning a memorial service and getting all of my paperwork done for the program. Good luck to you all.

Hey Robert, SORRY FOR YOUR LOST MAN!! That's definitely hard, hang in there and continue being strong! I'm sorry for your lost and you have my deepest sympathy.
