Hey guys! I haven't seen a thread for this yet so I thought this would be helpful to keep each other updated. Have any of you heard anything about the program yet?

Hey! do you mind sharing what the schedule is like. I know it is 13 shifts per month, so you work 3 12-hour shifts a week? Are the days spaced out or back to back? Does your schedule change every week or is it consistent?
I also wanted to work in NYC but the job market is too competitive. I instead accepted a position at Stony Brook Hospital in Long Island to get experience now and reapply in NYC in 1-2 years.
A lot of my friends got positions easily at Stony Brook Hospital and in their speciality. There are a lot of new graduate positions for acute care, maternity and pediatrics.

I actually got a position as an RN at NYU. I am very thankful. The market is definitely very competitive.

That's awesome, congrats! What specialty or unit did you accept a position on at Stony Brook? I'm interviewing with two float pools and applying to pediatrics, although SB HR told me new graduates are most likely to get jobs in Med Surg or ICU float pool.

I’m in the ICU stepdown.

Update from my recruiter (11/1): "We are currently working with Fall/Winter grads in anticipation of future openings. There is nothing available now. I would suggest you stay in touch and reapply as an experienced RN when you have obtained a year of acute care experience."
