NYU hiring process

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?

Hi! I received the offer email today! Seems like there's a good amount of stuff to do before Jan 8. Also, for those who accepted the offer, did you guys get night shift and do you guys plan on moving to the city? Also, are all our positions definitely for the new building once it opens?

Yup, I'm nights. I live in Brooklyn already and don't have plans to move to Manhattan. And, not sure about the new building :)

Hey TBRN2017, I haven't heard anything from peri-op but we usually receive updates on Fridays. Someone that got the same email as us last week (we have begun extending offers/you are still under consideration) that interviewed for inpatient got a rejection today though

This makes me so scared. I really hope we can get answers ASAP so we're not just waiting around.

Anyone get any updates today?

Anyone get any updates today?

Nope and I am going crazy!!! :(

Congrats to everyone who got the job!

Do you work 7-7 or 11-11?

@kmichellex - I'm not sure actually. I don't have too many details yet, but I was assuming more around the 7-7 time.

Anyone starting orientation Jan 8? I was hired for one of the new PICU positions in the new building! Super excited since I am coming from a telemetry/stepdown unit and have always wanted to work in peds. :)

For anyone who has already completed the orientation process at NYU, does it start in the classroom 5 days a week? And if so, how many weeks is it? Im also a first time mom on maternity leave, and trying to set up child care is hard when there is no schedule!

Congratulations!!! I got a night shift for PICU, Ill be in the Jan 8 orientation too! Are you going to be in PICU?

I live in Brooklyn. I believe all positions are for the new building because I think all of the peds units will be moving there once it opens. Do you know anything about the orientation schedule? I just posted my own comment, but I just had my first child, and Im trying to find a nanny, but without an orientation schedule, its hard to do!

I am a transfer from NYU Brooklyn, and when we had orientation there, it was a few weeks of in-class stuff, then we went to the unit to precept for 4-6 weeks. Just trying to figure out if the in-class portion is 5 days a week like it was at NYU Brooklyn, and how many weeks that part will be until we get on the unit! Any idea?

Hello all. Is there anyone here going to the January 8 start date for orientation? If so, what unit did you get hired for? I was hired for the Operating Room at The Kimmel.

I am going to that orientation! I was hired for PICU, I will also be in the Kimmel building. Do you know anything about how the schedule is for orientation? Or when they will give us any more details? (times/where to meet/what to wear etc)
