NYU hiring process

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?

I am going to that orientation! I was hired for PICU, I will also be in the Kimmel building. Do you know anything about how the schedule is for orientation? Or when they will give us any more details? (times/where to meet/what to wear etc)

Congrats! I remember the HR telling me that the first month is going to be all educational orientation in the mornings and 10 weeks for the unit (OR, in my case). I am going there tomorrow for meet with HR and Occupational Health. I was told to bring my credentials, licenses, etc. I'll let you guys know what happens. Hope to meet you all soon!

Oh great! I am actually a transfer from NYU Brooklyn so I wasn't required to go in with my licenses because they already have them on file, but I haven't gotten any other information since the offer letter. If you get any more info tomorrow about the schedule (specifically the educational portion), would you be able to let me know how many days a week it is, and how many weeks it goes for? Im on maternity leave at the moment, so I am trying to set up childcare starting Jan 8. but thats hard to do when I don't have a schedule!

I believe it was 8am-4pm the educational part of the orientation 5 days/week but don't quote me on this but that's what my memory tells me. I don't really have my vaccination record. Am i in trouble? I might have left them in Philippines or something and I might not be able to retrieve them. How did you do with your Health requirements?

I assumed it would be something like those hours! Once we can confirm that I can finally find a nanny and relax a little bit before we begin in Jan. :) If they give you any information tomorrow, please let me know!

Occupational health will let you know what you need to do but if you do not have record, they will most likely require you to get booster shots. I had all of my health requirements already in the system from my previous NYU position. Occupational health can do things like your flu shot and PPD. If it is the same as NYU Brooklyn, they require you to get those vaccinations before starting on the unit.

Hi beejagpalo, Congrats. When did you receive your offer/are you a new grad?

I was also hired for the PICU, with a January 8th orientation!!

night shift! How about you?

For all of us waiting, I hope we hear soon

Hello all. Is there anyone here going to the January 8 start date for orientation? If so, what unit did you get hired for? I was hired for the Operating Room at The Kimmel.

Congratulations!! Was curious if you are a new grad and which OR unit you will be in? I am a new grad myself and am waiting to hear back. I receive the emails every Friday (sometimes every other) saying I am still in consideration and when I call the recruiter I interview with at the Interview Day he says the same.
