Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?

did anyone who interviewed for the CCVCU or PICU hear anything yet?

I am interested in NYU

Does anyone know which hospital is their main one?

I haven't had any clinicals there so I'm not sure.

The main hospital at NYU is Tisch Hospital on 1st Ave. This is expanding into the Kimmel Pavilion next year, which is going to be an "add on" to the main campus. From what I know, most med-surg floors and pediatric floors will be moving there in July. There is also the Hospital for Joint Diseases and the campuses in Brooklyn and Long Island.

I started at NYU a couple months ago through the New Grad Residency so if anyone has questions, I can try to answer them!

Congrats on starting there! What unit are you on and how do you like it so far?

I love it so far! I started in August and orientation has been wonderful. Depending on what kind of floor you're hired onto, you'll have tons of classes and labs that are unique to your specialty within the first couple of weeks. Obviously depending on what floor you're on, orientation lengths will be different but I've heard ranges of around 6-8 weeks for general med-surg to about 5-6 months for any ICU settings. I don't want to say the exact floor I was hired onto for privacy reasons but I am within Maternal-Child Health.

On top of that, NYU has great pay and benefits and the hospital is super receptive to new graduates!

Thank you! You heard anything about good or bad about their ICU?

I was looking into a cardiac or MICU floor. Not having clinicals with them makes it hard for me to know what floors are good/etc.

Pros/Cons about working for NYU?

Did anyone just receive an email saying that they're in the final stages of selecting candidates?
