Members are discussing the hiring process at NYU Langone, sharing experiences with phone screens, interviews, and references. Some express frustration with the website, while others offer advice on navigating the application process and timelines for hiring. Questions about salary offers for new grads and comparisons between hospitals are also brought up.
Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?
So I've been following up with my recruiters. Persistence is key. The HR lady I met, she emailed me back letting me know I got "very positive feedback from my interviews with Surgical ICU, and Liver Transplant Unit.
So I also got an email saying 5-10 more days until final decisions- November 3rd the latest I guess?
But yesterday I got as follow up email saying to come in for another interview for a hiring date of Nov. 13th... fingers crossed this is a good thing í ¾í´ž. It's a lot sooner thasn anticipated- during the interview day they said they're hiring for January 2018, but I'm not complaining. I've been working and volunteering so I have a nice updated resume to give out.
@FinallyRN29 can you tell me which recruiter emailed you about the hiring day on November 13th? Do you know if it's for all new grads or just for people that could make it to the one on October 12th? Because I just had an interview with HR and was told that the next interview date wouldn't be until late November.
I'm not sure to be honest. I remember seeing the email for the octobert 12 interview day randomly about a week before. They hire monthly for their residency program, I know that much. So when you're recruiter is talking about november, she/ he is referring to the next hiring cycle for the residency program.
Has anyone heard anything else in addition to the 5-10 days email? I received the 5-10 days email on 10/25 and another email this morning 10/30 apologizing for the delay and asking that I be patient as they need more time to make a final decision... I hope I receive an offer soon because I'm moving from out of state so if they want to hire me for November 13th then I need to know ASAP. Also, I know this is how large corporations function, but if they send me a rejection letter after sending me two emails asking for more time, that would be incredibly upsetting and a huge waste of my time... I'm hoping that's not the case!

Thanks for info! If you don't mind me asking, which unit is this for? And are you still in touch with hr at this point or the nm?
