I've heard that there's a med math test you have to take. Is that true? Can you tell me how hard it is and what you did to prepare/pass?

Ah congrats! I recently accepted an offer there in November and will be starting in January. I'm a new grad! Here was my timeline - 1) I interview 2) Got a call from HR the same day I left telling me that they would like to move forward with the process and basically offering me the job but I just needed all my references completed first 3) I made sure all my references were completed within a week and at the one week mark, I got a call from HR again officially offering me the job! 4) Right after we talked on the phone she emailed all the onboarding information, links to sign the electronic offer, etc. So overall, it took me about one week exactly from my interview date to get a written and signed offer! What floor will you be on? Do you know your start date? :)

@KrisSik9921 HR called yesterday and asked if I was still interested in interviewing. HR told me they're scheduling interviews for next week and trying to get all new grads to start by January 8th! So they said if managers choose to hire you, we would be looking at a quick turnaround time and start date of Janaury 8th! I ultimately turned them down because I've already accepted a job elsewhere. However, it looks like they're finally wrapping things up with this past group and now are looking to start interviewing again! Good luck! :)

For those people that didn't make the cut off date for the first interview round at NYU, did you guys get contacted today for a new interview date? I was contacted today by NYU but I haven't responded because I've already recieved an offer elsewhere...

I interviewed with HR in-person and I also had above a 3.5 GPA. I think they just get so many applicants that they put that GPA requirement in just to weed some people out. It sucks but there are lots of other hospitals in NY that don't have a GPA requirement! :)

I'm a new grad and I have an interview next week for a "Post Cath Stepdown Unit" at a big level 1 hospital. I'm confused because I have never heard of such a unit. My goal is really to be in the ICU, but since I'm a new grad, that has been extremely difficult to get into. Especially in New York where the competition is so high. So it sounds like they're calling this post cardiac interventional unit a stepdown to get my interest. Can someone tell me what this unit is like? What's the patient population? Is it high-acuity and would you consider it "stepdown." What kinds of things do nurses to do on this unit? Would it be a good stepping stone to get into the ICU?

I've been in contact with two different HR people. After my in-person interview, they told me that I could come in for their next interview event that would most likely be scheduled for the end of November. So I have been desparately waiting for end of November! However, now they're saying most likely the event won't be held until January ): I'm confused because HR is telling you possibly an event in December but HR is telling me possibly an event in January! I just wish they would pick a date already! I'm already licensed and graduated so I'm pretty anxious!

I hope we hear something by December! I really would like to interview before then ): I had my HR phone and in-person interview at the end of October. HR has just told me to keep checking in for updates. Initially they told me end of the November for the next big intervew event. However, just a couple days ago I called and HR said because they're so overwhelmed with placing new grads from the October interview day, we might be looking at a January interview event. Can I ask if it's an ICU? I'm just interested to see if they're hiring new grads into their ICUs :)

So for people that are still waiting to interview, I called HR and they told me that the next interview event for new grads most likely won't be until January. Initially, they told me the next event would be end of November but now it seems like they're overwhelmed and trying to sort through all the new grads from this interview round. I'm really disappointed ):
