Hi, I'm starting this thread because there are only Accelerated BSN threads out there. If you applied to NYU's nursing program as a transfer student without an undergrad degree, I would love to hear from you! I recently found a traditional transfer thread from many years ago and it seemed like not many of the applicants were accepted. This has me worried as I applied as a traditional transfer, regular decision. Is there a possibility NYU only really considers students as traditional freshmen and ABSN students?
Hey, welcome! Your stats sound great. Doesn't bmcc have an agreement with NYU? I thought I heard something like that. Anyway, I'm pretty excited to see all of our outcomes, I hope we all get in, it's been great having you guys to go through this wait with. Hopefully this week is the week!
It's really up to NYU's discretion. I think that transferring credits from community college to a 4 year school is more of an issue than transferring credits from a 4 year school to a 4 year school- Because quality can vary so greatly with teaching at community college. But BMCC has a great 2 year program for nursing, so they take their pre-reqs pretty seriously. If your credits end up not being transferable, that could seriously set you back financially. TBH- NYU is an amazing school, but it is so expensive! If it wasn't for the fact that my tuition would be covered bc of my veteran status, I wouldn't put myself into that type of debt. I just hope everyone who applied that realizes that they can't afford to go doesn't think that they won't become a great nurse without NYU. Meeting so many nurses in the city that came from so many different schools: from what I gather, after your first year of actually working, where you went to school starts meaning nothing if your not performing. As it should be!

Hey all! Finally jumping into this discussion after lurking it the past few weeks. Trying to get in as a transfer as well. Currently attending BMCC- I'm a military veteran using my GI Bill to go to school, I work at a homeless shelter, I'm a part of a very active feminist group in DC, and I have a 3.74 gpa. My gpa is honestly my weakest point of my application bc I screwed up when I first started attending school and tried to take a statistics course over the summer and got a C+ Since I had no clue how fast and intense a summer class can be. other than that- I have a 4.0 in all my prerequisites. (Still have to take micro though) Ugh- all of you sound so impressive and I wish you all the best of luck!! This wait is killing meeee.
