I have noticed there isn't a thread for those applying for NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014. Let's share feedback, advice, stats, etc... I went to an open house today at NYU. They really do stress that since there is no interview, the personal statement is our chance to prove ourselves. They also said they get about 1,000 applicants and a Fall entrance class usually have about 150 students in it.
From the previous threads, it seems as if there is no rhyme or reason to when people hear back. I know people last year who applied by the priority deadline and heard after people that applied at the last minute...Either way I am hoping we all hear something soon.
I feel like they probably figure out very quickly who they DEFINITELY want and don't want to take, and then start closing in on the remaining people in the applicant pool from there. I feel like after reading the Fall '13 ABSN thread, it could take a while to hear back, depending on how competitive the applicants are for that year. if everyone is in the same ballpark GPA-wise, it stands to reason that they probably start cutting people based on other factors.
That being said, I also really hope we find out sooner rather than later. All this waiting is just making me more anxious.
It says on the website that five days after the admission decision release date (April 1st) we can call and ask for our decision/status... Is anyone going to call? :)
It says this on Albert, "Regular Decision candidates will be sent sometime on April 1st after 5pm. Admission decisions will not be available anywhere on this website. Decisions will not be released over the phone until 5 days after decisions have been released via email" I am assuming they mean five days after April 1st. I don't know if other people have received any decisions on the 1st.
When I called a few days ago they said decisions would go out starting april 15th and it could be as long as June 15th depending when you applied, etc.
@planemo, it sounds like the earliest date they could possibly release decisions is April 1st as that was the deadline, but that phone calls relaying decisions would only be done at 5 days after they emailed the candidate their decision.. i.e. sounds like the phone call decision is just a confirmation after one receives an email.. but not sure?
kd have you tried logging in using a different browser? That is weird that you keep getting that message. I get it every once in a while but it usually let me in if I keep trying....Thanks for the info brit! Hopefully we all hear soon! @Petunia, yea that could be right, I have no idea.. but it sounds like we will hear on or after the 15th =)
@petunia I agree with you, it also sounds to me like they are releasing phone decisions 5 days after the e-mail decisions were sent out, like a secondary confirmation. It doesn't sound like they are going to release it 5 days after April 1st (although that would be great!)
