I was recently accepting to NYU's accelerated nursing program for the spring. I am slightly concerned about the financial requirements of the program. Do you think its best to live on or off campus? If anyone else has been recently accepted, have you received your financial aid award letter yet?
Hey Esuh,
I am applying too and I answered the last short answer with sort of a summary of my essay, but more focus on why NYU just to try and vary it a little.
Also, in the student bulletin on NYU's website and here http://www.nyu.edu/nursing/academicprograms/bachelors/grads.html it says that applicants to the accelerated program should write their essay about why they want to get a second bachelor's degree in nursing, not that other question that you quoted.
Good luck!
hello im new to allnurses and am applying to NYU accelerated program in October. i wanted to ask all of you who got into the program (btw congrats!) if you think i might have a chance of getting in for spring 2010.
I have a BA from UC Santa Cruz in Anthropology with a undergraduate gpa of 3.38. For pre-rec i have: A's in Stat, physiology, Nutrition, Psy. B's in microbio and anatomy. And a C in chemsitry.
I have letters of recs from my microbio professor and employer at Planned parenthood. I volunteered at Planned p for about 5 months before i began working there.
I am wondering if i have a chance of getting in with a C in chemistry. Also would applying before the application deadline increase my chance of getting in?
What was your GPA when you applied? and did u only write 8 lines 600 characters for the short answer or did u add more on the last page like it says you can do. Im just a little hesitant i don't know what to do. I will really appreciate your response. Also whats the average entering class GPA. Thanks

Thanks! :)I know - my reply is quite late. I ended up just writing down a quick sentence summary of my essay, and I was accepted to the program!! Now I only need to wait for my financial aid packet and decide..
Hi Esuh,
is it hard to get into NYU? Whats the average GPA. Which question did u focus on the one about why u want to wish to obtain a second bachelor's degree at NYU or why are u leaving your current college and how NYU will help you achieve your goals?
Thanks:wink2:
I am in the middle of applying as a transfer student and was curious about people who got accepted-if you don't mind-what kind of essay answers did you give? The famous NYer is throwing me off because I have never really thought about that before and honestly have no idea what is the right kind of answer to write. Also-has anyone been accepted into NYU with college experience from a college that was not listed in the application code list? I am just trying to weigh my odds here..any help would be appreciated! (I have college cresdits from an online school I didn't see listed and also some from one that was listed, but I have a LOT more form the one not listed)

hi,
i'm working on my application for the fall 2009 semester. the last short answer essay question is so similar to the personal essay question for transfer/graduated students - if i already address the short answer question in my personal essay, can i just note that instead of saying a shortened version of my long essay?
the admissions people might appreciate not to have to read extra (my personal essay exceeds the 500 word limit by 60 or so words anyway), but i do want to follow instructions to be on the safe side.. any advice? these are the two essay questions:
"please tell us what led you to select your anticipated acedemic program and/or nyu school/college, and what interests you most about your intended discipline. (500 characters)"
"please discuss your interest in transferring to new york university. explain your reasons for wanting to leave your current college or university (or if not currently in attendance, why you left the last institution you attended), and describe how you feel your educational goals can be better achieved at nyu. (500 words).
thanks!!
