NYU accelerated nursing students/applicants

Published

I was recently accepting to NYU's accelerated nursing program for the spring. I am slightly concerned about the financial requirements of the program. Do you think its best to live on or off campus? If anyone else has been recently accepted, have you received your financial aid award letter yet?

To lemonz11:

I am currently looking for a place to live around nyu. How much are you subletting the place for and how big is it? i prefer not to live in the dorms after my bad experience during my freshmen year in undergrad. Since you're a nursing student already, i have one more question: are we required to have a cpr certificate and health clearance prior to the start of the program? thanks

Hey everyone,

I am still actually waiting for a decision! The wait is very hard because my number one choice is NYU for nursing. I was told that I would get a decision the week of Christmas but haven't found out yet. I know Santa you said you found out this past Saturday and live only 40 miles away. I live in Georgia and I am thinking that the mail may be delayed. Has anyone else heard anything regarding admission? I wish I could call the office but that is closed till January 5th, so I can't get in contact with anyone by phone or email. But I am still hoping and praying to get in! Im not going to give up! Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? If so please do let me know! Does anyone think its normal that they send a decision this late? Waiting anxiously and with hope!

Thanks and congrats to everyone!

when i hadnt received my decision from nyu i started getting nervous as well and was searching allnurses.com to see how late ppl got letters in the mail. i remember reading some forums from last year where ppl had gotten letters after the orientation date! nyu is a huge school, so there probably hundreds of applicants for this program alone. all i can say is be patient!.. and maybe email admissions just in case. i live in queens and nyu is only a borough away, it took my letter 10 days to get here, when it shouldve only taken a day or two.

good luck to you hpatel

Hey Santa,

How that is crazy, they found out after orientation! I wonder how they managed all of it. But you are right I am trying to be very patient with the whole thing. I am giving to give it one more day and then the office opens Monday January 5th so I will call them then and just see if it is possible for me to get my decision over the phone. Thank you for all your help and if you do know of any others that are waiting like me please let me know! I have been in a lingo since Christmas week, its been a wait ever since.

Thanks

Hey everyone, I got into NYU accelerated program for the Spring also. If it helps I heard that some people found out they got in into January, so theres still hope. In regards to NYU its crazy how many things there are to do, register, financial aid, etc. and the college was just closed for a few weeks, so when it reopens theres a ton to do in such a short amount of time, very frustrating!

hello everyone and congrats to those who have been accepted! i am originally from mass. and have been living in chicago for the last 3 1/2 years. i received my letter yesterday after being away for the holidays. it was dated dec. 17th. i'm concerned with the amount of time i have to move and get my finances taken care of. i guess i just have to wait until i can talk to someone in the office tomorrow. i'm a little hesitant on housing and what i'm going to do! seems like a lot of us are in the same boat, i guess that is a little comforting! if anyone has any more helpful information please let us know. good luck!

THANKS!!!

and congrats to everyone!

We are all in the same boat! Aaugh I am so overwhelmed with everything I have to do in such a little period of time! Anyone who needs a roommate, please let me know--I would love to live with a nursing student. See you at orientation!

Do they require an interview?
