Nyu Accelerated BSN spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone! I made this thread in order to find everyone is also also planning on applying NYU accelerated nursing program. The application for the spring opens on October 1st and I am so excited! :)

Hey guys, I am not a big blogger here. However, I am always reading what you guys post. I can feel everyone's excitement about getting into NYU. I must admit, Im filed with excitement as well. I applied before the priority deadline. This past two months have been the longest. I check my e-mail at least twice a day since admissions office stated that acceptance notices will be sent via e-mail. I see some of you will be relocating for school. NYC is a wonderful city, a lil saturated with people but amazing. I am currently working as a Patient Care Technician(PCT) at NYU Langone Medical Center. Nurses here (at least on my unit) are wonderful, sometimes I bombard them with questions but hey, thats how you learn and as long as they are willing to answer them, I will keep on asking. I've been here for one year four months and 24 days lol. Can you tell how much I love it? I obtained a wonderful recommendation letter from my nurse manager( I was able to read it and send it myself) and another one from the director of the Health Education and Promotion program at my previous college. Anyways, I hope we all get in. I dont know if anyone is familiar with the website "Nurse eye roll" if you are not, go on check it out. You will find wonderful tips on how to survive nursing school among other entertaining stuff. You an also post questions you may have.

Hey Jayblade you definitely have a good advantage by being inside the circle & having references from directors... I'm sure you are in;) I hope they give us an answer soon not only because we need to accept other schools but also before starting in January we need a little more than a month to make some arrangements with housing, loans, and criminal background checks.. They still said they start review November 1st so I'm pretty sure nov 3rd wd still be the start for first bunch letters.. at this point no matter what the answer is we just need it to move on with our next steps!

Chelss,

Hi there! I read on previous threads from other years that some where notified as early as November 3rd! Hopefully we find out before November 15th ! I'm super anxious!

Jayblade,

Hi Dath,

I hope we all get in. Do you live in NY or are you relocating? I hope you like the website. It has great tips and Advices.

Hey,

I hope so too. I can imagine how much pressure it puts on those who applied to multiple programs. I believe the background check and admission process runs pretty smooth once you get accepted. A couple of nurses I work with are doing their masters at NYU and their process did not take long, according to them. Once accepted you just go to an appointment( Idk if you arrange the appointment yourself or if they do it for you) to go get your pic taken and obtain an ID among a few other things. If you are relocating, is a different story. You do need more time. Im not good at waiting lol. I hope we get answers before mid-november.

Jayblade,

Yes I live in NY, but I plan on commuting to NYU if accepted. How about you?

Haha we definitely got to bring SoCal! To answer your questions about the letter of recs, sorry but mine were already sent out. As for Hoag, I would really keep in touch with them and make sure it mails out and possibly use express/priority mail. It's just that it takes roughly about 3-5 business days to mail a letter to New York.
