I was also thinking about living on campus but I worry about living with an undergrad. Do you know how we look into that? I have been looking on Craigslist and there seem to be some reasonable rooms for rent but I'm thinking the best way is to go early and land a place in person. I've heard that rooms go quick on craigslist so it's best to be there as soon possible with money in hand.

I definitely recommend coming early and trying to get a place in person. Getting an apartment can be quite challenging especially here in the city. My husband had to fly out from CA 3 times before we landed one. Be VERY careful with craigslist! There are lots of scammers on there: you will show up thinking you are there to see one apartment and they will say its already been rented but that they have others they can show you or will want a large amount of money for a realtors fee (very common in NYC). Your best bet would probably coming and looking at the different neighborhood to figure out where you might feel comfortable and then seeing if there are openings in any of the buildings or going to an actual realtor. If you aren't familiar with the area I'd be happy to help you find your way around.

For anyone who's recieved financial aid at NYU: when should I expect to get the money to pay for my living expenses if I were to get some?

No i haven't found out yet! LOL thats why I'm losing my mind! haha seriously though this waiting business is pure torture!

We sure are. When did you turn in your app? I completed mine just after priority but didn't pay my fee until right before the Nov 1st deadline.

Have you called or emailed? I've emailed a few times but they just keep telling me that all decisions will be out by early December, thats wayyyy too long from now :eek:
