Hey all! I've learned tons over the past months reading the different threads here. I am getting ready to start my application for the NYU aBSN program for Spring 2011, so I thought I'd start a new thread for anyone else who may be applying. I will be graduating from the University of Florida in December with a degree in nutrition. I've always wanted to go to NYU, so getting into this program would be a dream come true.
I will be attending the open house on August 10th to get some more information, so I will definitely check back and post what I find out.
So is there anyone else out there that's in the same boat as me? I'd love to hear from yall!!
I have a friend/classmate who is also waiting to hear from NYU and she applied by October 1st.
After I told her I found out over the phone she called numerous times but they never told her the answer.
They kept saying that the application was currently under review. Today she called again and they told her that since they have been receiving a large number of phone enquires, from tomorrow they will start telling the results over the phone!!
Now, I don't know if this is only for current NYU students or for everyone....but I think it's worth a try!!
So if you're tired of waiting for the mail pick up the phone tomorrow and call!!
Thats funny you mention it, I just called today and was told to call back tomorrow too. I didn't realize they'd be giving decisions over the phone though! I'll definitely call in the morning and see what they say. Thanks for the heads up :)

I just called and they told me the same thing. This is starting to really annoy me. I have to move out of my apartment in a month and a half and I don't know where I am moving to yet.
I'm surprised they don't have a decision either because we both applied before the October 1 deadline, but at least we haven't been denied. Did they tell you when you would have a decision or when to call back?
I spoke to an admissions assistant, so I didn't think she'd know when a decision would be made. I guess I will call back on Monday and see if they've made any progress.
Those of you who found out by phone are lucky because I've tried everything and they would not give me an answer. They keep telling me they do not give decisions over the phone. I hope I hear something soon because the wait is killing me!!
My overall GPA was a 3.1 and my prereqs were about a 3.3. I have a degree in Exercise Physiology and been working as an EKG Tech for the past 2 years. I was also in the Air Force for 4 years. I'm a little worry about my GPA but I hope my military and healthcare background help me out a lot. I also got a really good LOR from my professor who is the head of the Exercise Physiology department and from my boss at work. I feel like I did real good on the application. I hope my chances are good. If anybody who got in would like to share their stats for I could get an idea that would be very helpful.
