NYU Accelerated BSN Spring 2011 Applicants

Hey all! I've learned tons over the past months reading the different threads here. I am getting ready to start my application for the NYU aBSN program for Spring 2011, so I thought I'd start a new thread for anyone else who may be applying. I will be graduating from the University of Florida in December with a degree in nutrition. I've always wanted to go to NYU, so getting into this program would be a dream come true.

I will be attending the open house on August 10th to get some more information, so I will definitely check back and post what I find out.

So is there anyone else out there that's in the same boat as me? I'd love to hear from yall!!

Hey Ladies,

Does anyone know the exact cost of the program? I know the regular tuition rate is $19,000 per term, so I'm guessing $50,000-ish? I would love to attend NYU (submitted my app. just before the Oct. 1 deadline), but I have no idea whether or not it's worth the money...

It seems like we are applying to the same schools.

The tuition for the 15 month programs is 3 semesters plus 16 credits in the summer.

16 summer credits x $1,078=$17,248

3 semesters x $18,933 = 56,799

So the tuition would be 74 thousand plus an additional 4 thousandish for service fees.

NYU was originally my first choice because my sister graduated from NYU Stern and i love NYC. I always thought to myself that you only live once but when i think about the things i can buy for $50,000 (compared to a state school) i'm getting a sudden change of heart.

WOW - that is a boatload of tuition! Thanks, bernbabybern. My alma mater is Villanova, and its tuition is a flat $35,000. I still clearly hope to gain admission into the school, but I have some serious thinking to do...

Hey!

Does anyone know if NYU will be contacting by mail or email? I'm guessing that they will send out acceptance/rejection letters by mail right? But I also read on this website that a few people were notified by email.

I would prefer a letter since, knowing myself I would check the junk mail folder everyday....just in case lol!!!

Few more weeks and we will know...aaaaarrrgghhhh!!!!

Hi Rachel!

I know...it's killing me!! So let me ask you....did you submit a paper application or electronic application? I submitted an electronic one and got the confirmation that Admission received it and were looking for to review it....that's it! Mine is an internal transfer since I'm already an NYU student...let's hope for the best!

I'm guessing we'll get an answer before Thanksgiving....hopefully, since they usually send out letters after mid November.

I don't think my heart is gonna make it!!!!!

Anyone know when we should hear back? NYU notified me about 2 weeks ago they lost my transcripts so I had to resend them...I hope this doesn't affect my decision lol.... :/

I called them last week and they said sometime in the November they will begin notification .. Keeping my fingers crossed:mad:

Yes!!! I think we might have 2 more weeks before we start hearing something!! I'm so tempted to call and ask!!!

kika 72, i thought you found out already. i saw on another thread that you got in, or is that for the nyu traditional nursing program. has anyone tried calling re: accelerated?
