NYU ABSN Spring 2021

Published

Hi all. I'm starting a forum for NYU Spring 2021. I know the application goes live soon so might as well make one now.

I applied for Fall 2020 but didn't get in so I'm applying for the second time. Good luck to us all!

Right now I’m deciding between Rutgers and Rush University’s GEM MSN program (in Chicago)!  Just waiting to see what my financial aid from Rutgers looks like!

Congrats! You got into all excellent programs. I haven't looked into Rush but I do remember seeing that Rutgers is more affordable than NYU by a bit. Particularly if you are in-state, but even if you are from out-of-state.

Also, I see that you're deciding between BSN and MSN. What factors are going into that decision???

I got in NYU ASBN WITHOUT any financial aid.
Does anyone got a generous financial aid ?
Any suggestions for private loans?

I haven't received any decision from NYU yet, but I'm also interested in private loan suggestions for the future no matter what program I end up entering!

are people still receiving acceptances? I got in 2 weeks ago but really haven't gotten much information after accepting the offer and paying the deposit?

I only got a small amount in unsubsidized federal loans that is  preferable to private loans. Most of the private loans needs a co-signer.

Hey Jen,

I'm in a similar boat. Sallie Mae is a pretty good private loan option and works with the student. I still rather get FASFA.

Well, with Rush, if I decide to apply there for my DNP (Im thinking CRNA or FNP), I will get free tuition (granted I get in when that time comes LOL). Im still deciding what exactly I want to do within nursing, but the program at Rush will also leave me with my CNL certificate, so that can open up the doors to some leadership positions. Additionally, the aid (a decent scholarship and fed loans are great since it’s a professional degree and not an undergraduate) I got is pretty great. With Rutgers, the program is shorter, I could start working faster, and if I don’t go to rush for my DNP, I wouldn’t have to take a bunch of graduate level classes over again. I've also heard lots of folks who say they were glad they didn’t do a GEM program to start out with. So it will be a touch decision! I hope you hear back from NYU soon! What other schools are you deciding on?

anyone apply to non accelerated??

has anyone gotten denied yet? wondering if they have sent any out or waiting until all acceptances go out. this waiting game is getting so frustrating! LOL

last batch of decisions go out 12/18. so expect to hear something 12/4, 12/11 or 12/18. they told me it goes out once a week on fridays as we all know already. so if u havent heard back yet theres still a chance.

I received my acceptance a little after 2pm earlier today! I am so excited!
