Hi all. I'm starting a forum for NYU Spring 2021. I know the application goes live soon so might as well make one now.
I applied for Fall 2020 but didn't get in so I'm applying for the second time. Good luck to us all!
So someone from admissions committee contacted me today about my nutrition courses. Apparently, they are not accepting the two I put on my application after I sent them the syllabus to both classes. I sent them the syllabus to another 2 nutrition classes. I am just hoping they will accept one of the two ?

It’s within a week. (That being said, it will be two weeks for me on Friday and I still havent accepted/ declined. I was trying to figure out my finances though and contacted financial aid with questions over the weekend. I will likely end up declining tomorrow though because I would have to take out almost 70k in private loans which I just don’t know if that makes sense for me right now ? )

Hey. Currently there is a facebook group for the Spring 2021 cohort. Here is the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/797904364384354/

I hope they accept your other nutrition class, but if they don't you can change your application to non-accelerated and take nutrition at NYU in Spring if you're accepted!

Did NYU offer much from school grants? From what I saw on previous threads, people don't seem to get FAFSA aid for second degree. Is this correct?

Yes, look it up on the Meyers website. It's the regular second degree program. And ask the counselor that you are in touch with, after they respond if your classes will be accepted or not I guess!
@autumn78 for the 2020-2021 financial aid/school year, I got 3750 in scholarships that the college of nursing gives, 1500 in work study, then the rest in federal loans. There is a lifetime limit to how much money you can take out in federal loans for an undergraduate degree....and since I already took out loans for my first bachelors, it wasn’t a lot this time around. And yes, I think a lot of federal grants we can’t get since it’s a second bachelors.

Thanks for the insight. Good luck! If you are deciding between schools, have you made a decision on which one you will be attending?
And I see what you're saying now... you exhausted your federal loans, and private loans mean higher interest

Right now I’m deciding between Rutgers and Rush University’s GEM MSN program (in Chicago)! Just waiting to see what my financial aid from Rutgers looks like!
