NYU ABSN Spring 2021

Published

Hi all. I'm starting a forum for NYU Spring 2021. I know the application goes live soon so might as well make one now.

I applied for Fall 2020 but didn't get in so I'm applying for the second time. Good luck to us all!

Congratulations on your acceptance-- I am so happy for you!

I am wondering if you by any chance would feel comfortable sharing your personal statement? While I know changes can't be made to essays now I am just curious to see what people included in theirs. Moreover, I think my personal statement is something that will help my application as well, since my undergrad GPA wasn't the best.

Thank you!

thank you so much! & sorry I'm not comfortable sharing my essay here. but I think my essay showed that I was really interested in attending NYU. I found researches they have done, their mission, and values and integrated that into my essay. My personal statement did include a cliche story but I kept it very brief and focused on why me, why NYU, and what being a nurse meant to me.

crossing my fingers for you and others to get your acceptances today !! ?

I just got my acceptance!! Check your emails. I applied back in August. I was waitlisted last cycle for Fall 20 start but I re-applied ? good luck to everyone!

Thank you!! I had a 3.4 cumulative GPA from undergrad, I think it was a little higher (like 3.5) with my pre-req's and other classes I took post-grad. I got B's in physio and Chemistry and an A in the other classes. I only had 1 recommendation letter from a supervisor that I thought was pretty strong. I thought my personal essay was pretty strong as well. I didn't have a lot of healthcare experience, just volunteered at a hospice and worked at an underserved pre-school for a year. Hopefully this helps, feel free to ask any other questions.

Also side note: I remember feeling super devastated when I got waitlisted after last cycle. It's been a long process re-applying to other schools as well. I hope everyone has been able to manage the stress and anxiety alright because this whole process can be very mentally draining!
