NYU ABSN Spring 2021

Hi everybody!

I just want some advice on my next steps. I have been accepted to pace ABSN and they require me to buy books, and send in documents by December 1. However NYU is my first option and would love to attend. Any body have any advice. I read on other forums that some people get decisions from NYU up to mid December and that would just be way too late.
anyone have any advice for me?

Hey, I was accepted in to Northeastern’s ABSN program back in August. I put my $1000 deposit down around 2 days later. NEU still wants me to have a final decision by November 13, which is two weeks away, however, I too am waiting on NYU. My best suggestion is to put your deposit down, and to hold on to your seat for as long as possible. Remember that they might try and pressure you in to choosing their program, but they still have a long list of people waiting to get in. There are no implications, and you are not hurting anyone by doing what’s best for you.

If you do not have the money to make a seat deposit in both schools, then unfortunately you’ll have to make a decision earlier than you want.

I think that if you know you will attend Pace if you don't get into NYU, you should fulfill Pace's requirements by their deadline to be safe. I hope you get into your dream school though.

When does Pace's program officially start/require your semester tuition payment?

It starts at the end of January like NYU but requires documents and forms like medical and scrubs by December 1. I did some research on the past forums and some has not receive a decisions from NYU til mid december.

Hi, has anyone who has gotten accepted retaken any of their prereq classes? I’m just super scared because I had to retake a couple of my sciences and feel as though that will greatly weaken my app ?

Hey!

I am not accepted yet but if I had to guess I would think it shouldn't affect your application greatly. I would have to guess there would be several factors to consider such as what was your previous grade vs. your new grade. Is it online vs in class? Especially during this time, online classes taken in the Summer and fall of 2020 are acceptable for all prerequisites except chem I believe. But again if let's say you went from a C to an A, I would believe that it would not affect your chances of getting in at all. Just my opinion since you are probably waiting for advice. Good Luck!

As well some courses may be considered more important than others such as AP 1 & 2 compared to developmental psych. So if it's one of those "less" important courses, you don't need to worry.

What other schools did everyone apply to? Also, @sigtimewho got accepted to northeastern's program. Do you live in the area of that school or would you be moving there?
