NYU ABSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.

I also made an (early) Facebook group: Log into Facebook | Facebook

As in CPR/First Aid? It certainly won't hurt; not sure if it is extremely competitive as a primary factor, but it does show interest in medicine.

Yup, the CPR/basic life support. Man, I already submitted my application. Is it too late to add the BLS now? :o

I believe it would be too late to alter your application, and I am not sure it would be worth an e-mail "amendment". Perhaps add it too your resume and make sure it stays there!

Thank you so much!!!

Hi guys! I'm also applying. Would someone be able to explain the "GPA entries" section to me?

You enter the GPA as it appears on your transcripts. They ask for this so they can review GPAs without transcripts (sometimes they do't arrive "on time") - they will, however, eventually want to receive you transcripts to confirm that what you shared was correct.

This allows them to make decisions re: admissions even if all your materials aren't in.

So once we've applied what are we checking as far as status? I'm assuming just the commonapp submit page? Has anyone gotten an email from NYU with any further info?

Yes, unfortunately NYU does not update tracking beyond Common App unless you call in and ask re: your materials. They will assign an NYU ID in the future and you will get your decision via that login (or so I understand).

I called them and it was confirmed via phone that my materials were received and my application was complete; they JUST started uploading all materials.

I recommend you give them a call.

Hey alyssanapps, so I called today and they told me that since they changed to common app this year, our decisions will be given to us via email around November.

As for checking your materials, we would just have to contact undergraduate admissions.

I called last Wednesday to check up on my materials and was told that they have received 2 transcripts and 1 LoR. I called today to check if my remaining documents have arrived and the lady told me theres nothing on my file. -____-

I had the same thing! One person told me nothing was in and then they followed up via e-mail to let me know everything was in. I'm sure they're experiencing hiccups with the new app system.

Hey guys! Quick question. I applied to the accelerated BSN program for spring 2019 a few weeks ago but never received any email with a login to check the status of my application, did any one receive a login yet?

I called undergraduate admissions last week to make sure all parts of my application were received but I'm just getting worried that I never received any sort of confirmation email.

Hey there - I think as far as we can all tell, the only confirmation you get is from the CommonApp; I have received no correspondence from NYU re: the status or even receipt of my application I am fairly certain no one else has either.

I also called; that was the only way I knew my stuff had made it. I am sure this is a rough year for them as they are in transition with their app system.
