NYU ABSN Spring 2019

Published

I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.

I also made an (early) Facebook group: Log into Facebook | Facebook

Ugh! Are you kidding me!! That's annoying so why bothering having the common app if you won't use the documents they have smh

Will they download the LOR through the common app or do we have to resend those as well?

As I understood, LORs and Transcripts should be sent directly to NYU; this is what the website says.

All - I received an e-mail entitled 'Your NYU Application Acknowledgement'

This is what it says:

Thank you for submitting your application to NYU! Soon we will send you your login information with instructions on how to access your application status page.

If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to apply for financial aid, regardless of your financial circumstances-the financial aid application is the process by which we consider students for both need- and merit-based financial aid.

As an applicant for a second bachelor's degree, you must submit both the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
and
CSS Profile
to be considered for financial aid. Please note that we do not offer scholarships to international students applying for transfer admission.

Visit our website
to view our deadlines and determine which forms you need to submit. Financial aid forms must be submitted online by our deadlines for NYU to consider you for financial aid, including any of our scholarships. One of the biggest mistakes an applicant can make is waiting to receive an admission decision before applying for financial aid. By then, our deadlines have passed, and we've exhausted our scholarship offers. Don't miss out on being considered!

Our admissions officers are looking forward to reading more about you. Congratulations on taking this first step in your college journey.

Thank you I'll have to ask for my letter of recommendation to be sent out to NYU.

I received the e-mail as well. Now let the waiting game begin

So I have also received the same email. However, all my LORs were sent through the commonapp... Do I really have to resend it out to NYU? It was actually very difficult for me to get in contact with my recommenders :(. ALSO, has anyone filed for FAFSA and CSS yet? I filed FAFSA for 2018-2019, should I file for the 2019-2020 year?

My LORs were also sent out through the commonapp. I just e-mailed my recommenders and two out of the three saved their letters so they're going to be mailing them out for me but they e-mailed me a copy as well to be on the safe side....really annoying I know. When I called NYU earlier this week I was told that if I already applied for FAFSA just to make corrections and add NYU to my list of schools.

Oh thank goodness, I added NYU to my list on FAFSA! Thank you, hopefully they will look at the LORs that were sent out through the commonapps. If they didn't I wouldn't see the point of using commonapp at all.

I am not sure if they will look at the CA recommendations; when I called in August, they stressed sending the recs and transcripts directly to NYU. The information is on this page: Second Bachelor’s Degrees

To everyone asking about the LOR. I was just at an info session and I told them that I had my recommenders send it to the common app and asked if I still have to send it to NYU. They told me if it is on the common app it is acceptable and you dont need to mail them.

Ah, I guess I'll have my recommenders email them the recommendations since its really hard to get a hold of them :(.
