NYU ABSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.

I also made an (early) Facebook group: Log into Facebook | Facebook

I heard back today and was accepted. Good luck to everyone!!

hi everyone, so I received an email from the admissions office saying that they could not see my Statistics class listed on my transcript. Long story short, I expedited another transcript to NYU last week which arrived on Tuesday. Yesterday I sent an email to admissions that the transcript arrived according to the carrier and they just replied, "Thank you. I will keep an eye out for the transcript." I don't know if this is a good or bad sign but this morning my checklist was gone! However, I still don't see a decision anywhere!

I still have not received a decision which is very upsetting because I applied before priority. It is very unfair to have people who applied much later get told sooner. I'm not sure how I will figure out payment plans with only a month time. This is a very unorganized way of handling all of this for a top school. I am very surprised.

I agree with @p1glet. This is very frustrating....

Congratulations to all those who have been accepted and I hope the rest hear back sooner than later ...

That's definitely really frustrating since there's a lot of moving parts involved with making such a big decision.. apologies if you mentioned it earlier, but have you called NYU's office to confirm they have everything? I submitted my app 10/5 and two weeks later I checked to see if everything was received. It showed that two transcripts were pending and when I called, they confirmed they did have those documents and then updated my checklist to reflect that. I then received the decision on 10/26. I think they only recently started using the common app for the ABSN program so maybe they haven't fully adjusted yet?

I too am relocating from the west coast (SF to be exact). I now feel overwhelmed by the prospect of having to relocate to the other side of the country in 2 months. I'm sorry for those who are patiently waiting. I applied back on 9/15, and was hoping to hear back much sooner.

For those who have been accepted, congrats! I wanted to start a Facebook group for our cohort. I imagine, like myself, we are now in a desperate sprint to find housing and to transition into this new program. My name is Matt Gutman. Feel free to message me, add me, whatever... But I look forward to meeting everyone in January!

To everyone who is still waiting, I can't image your frustration. I know in recent days I've considered withdrawing my application to reapply for the 2019 Fall semester. I'm sure all you are competitive applicants, who will be great nurses. Unfortunately it seems NYU doesn't know how to efficiently handle the admissions process..

I am just making the move from New Orleans - I cant imagine a west to east coast move. I've luckily secured an apartment and all that - if anyone needs help, needs a place to send stuff to, or needs anything at all on the NYC end, please let me know. I'd be happy to help in any way, especially for those coming from so far.

Hi guys! I just made my deposit this morning to attend in Spring! Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone who is still waiting! For those of you that have already accepted, do you happen to know when orientation is, and when the program officially starts? Also, when you submitted your deposit did they provide you with more information about everything needed?

Hey everyone, i called just to get an update with application status in general and was told that even with the holiday there should be decisions going out this week and each week until mid-december. Hopefully we hear back soon, but they mentioned to me that they go by when you application was submitted and listed as complete, so those of us who got emails that we were missing things or had to resubmit paperwork may have been pushed to the "back of the line" again sort of speak. They also mentioned nothing about looking at location of applicant and using that as a factor. It definitely seems a bit disorganized with the new application system but everyone was very forthcoming with information when asked.

Hey, if we get in on Friday most of us will be around family to celebrate at least? Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

If you mind, which side did you get the apartment? Coming from far, thinking of where to look for housing. And the cost of are not encouraging. Got accepted too.
