NYU ABSN Spring 2019

I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.

Hi guys when did you apply to NYU ABSN Spring 2019 program. I sent my application in on September 15th and I am still anxiously waiting. I have seen that some people have gotten their admission decisions and its freaking me out that I still haven't heard anything

Many of us have applied across the allotted time span. I know some applied right before deadline, some in September ... I applied three days after the application opened. I wouldn't worry yet - they tend to give admissions answers on Fridays, so be sure to check every Friday, and historically, people have been accepted well into December.

You could always call to check in, esp. if you need to make decisions about other schools / acceptances. I will say, NYU seems to have a very unusual admissions decision schedule compared to other nursing programs.

BA-Linguistics 3.9 / MA-Conflict Analysis 3.8 / MSc-Disaster Mgmt 3.7

Prerequisites: 3.8

Former EMT / couple years in psychiatry departments / couple years in disaster response / currently in HIV Prevention and disaster prep.

Where do you guys see your status? Do you sign in under applicant portal? Or is it in the commonapp? Can y'all take a SS?

Uh, ya'll ... I got my admissions decision. I was accepted. Please go check your NYU log-in ....

As is tradition, my stats:

Applied ~ August 5th

Accepted October 26

Plan to accept and attend

BA 3.9 / MA 3.8 / MS 3.7

Prerequisites: 3.8

Former EMT / couple years in psychiatry departments / couple years in disaster response / currently in HIV Prevention and disaster prep.

In a previous post, did you mention that one of your prerequisites expired at the time of application?

They hadn't expired; they were on the verge of expiration. This was my last viable semester for application with these pre-requisites (2009). Had I waited another semester, it would have been exactly 10 years and it is possible they would not have been viable. At this point they are 9.5 years old, save for Nutrition and Lifespan, which I took online this past summer.

I see, I got an email saying my chemistry class is a problem. I took both chem 1 and 2 in 2008 and they told me I can either find another course that finishes before jan.24, or switch to non-accelerated. I have emailed them and haven't heard back. Its because I have taken graduate school courses (pharmacology-3 grad level classes, MPH classes, pathology, neuro, etc.). I was hoping to petition them in this regard bec it is going to expire upon matriculating. I didn't apply to any other programs and I want to attend NYU more than anything. After all I am paying almost $4k for lifespan psych. If you or anyone else has advice in this regard please do help me.

@biocascio I sent my application in on the same day, I got an email from them yesterday that they needed some additional info from me, not sure if its a good or bad thing but seems like a few people are getting those emails. I'm assuming that means they've gotten to our application date. If I had to make a guess you'll probably hear back this week (hopefully I will too). Good luck!
