I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.
I also made an (early) Facebook group: Log into Facebook | Facebook
I had the same problem with my 3rd recommender. She had trouble with the common app. So I contacted the program and they gave me this email: [email protected]
My recommender sent it yesterday morning to that email and she got a confirmation from them too that she forwarded to me and today I saw that it was received by NYU as well.
Has anyone applied with one outstanding prerequisite or know of a situation where people were accepted with one standing out. I havent taken lifespan pysch which I am currently taking at NYU. Thank you =)
I am doing a prerequisite now (nutrition); it was self guided and online and I am awaiting grade postings. Most people I know who have been in a similar situation were not affected by it.

I'm in Nutrition now too, I called them about it and they told me that admission would just be "conditional" and proof of finishing the class with a satisfactory grade would be required.
Do you like the class? I find it extremely dense but then again my professor is horrible lol

Hey! I imagine our classes are probably different, unless you are taking them at Rochester! I actually found it very interesting - however, I have had ZERO interaction with the professor; it is 100% self study. I learned as much as I could motivate myself too, passed all the exams, and feel perhaps 80% knowledgeable. What is your class like?

I wish I was in your section then! lol, I'm taking it at Cal State Northridge, I'm from Los Angeles- my professor is horrible she is so slow and gets very off topic. Lectures are scattered, exams are disorganized, and I feel she doesn't really cover the actual material content. A lot of her lectures revolve around her personal opinions of nutrition because she is a registered dietitian and has a private practice just outside of Brentwood. I wish I took it online tbh. Regardless, it is still a relatively easy A, which, I guess I can't complain about that, right? Could always be worse!

Yikes! That sounds like a real bummer and a bit of a wasted opportunity for the students ... I guess getting the A is super important for admissions; but I feel you, I have such a hard time when the professors bias is a large majority of what the class is about. Good luck to you - if you want slides from my course let me know.

Yeah, big bummer but it's okay it's almost over. Best of luck to you too, and all the other applicants on here- we should know soon guys so keep your heads up. Plus it's Friday- Halloween movies and wine am I right? xD
Has anyone heard anything as far as when the first round of admission decisions would go out? Trying not to think about it at all but as the end of the month gets closer I keep thinking it may be coming soon! Last year people found out at the beginning of November!
Based on previous ABSN NYU threads on AllNurses, the earliest has been around October 25th; it seems to be Fridays, but has varied. I imagine we will hear about the first rounds within the next two weeks. Just remember, the group here is a small sample of applicants; we may miss out on being aware of some of the decision days as not every applicant is here to represent.

I would recommend calling and explaining the issue; it would be a good idea to send the copy in the mail to the address on the website as well OR have her do the Common App. Regardless, give them a call; they assured me my transcript for my pre-reqs hadn't arrived and I called, checked the next day, and presto - it was suddenly 'Received'.
