NYU ABSN Spring 2019

Published

I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.

I also made an (early) Facebook group: Log into Facebook | Facebook

Omg!! Thanks for letting us know. I'm so nervous!!

Yes! It is very possible tomorrow may be the beginning of admissions announcements - just remember that they don't seem to favor neither early decision, nor submission time. Some people may not hear back until late November.

We will all find out soon, so don't lose hope if it is not tommorow!

Yes, yes!! Thank you :) :) :) Good luck to all!!!

Hell yeah, that's what's up! Fingers crossed for everyone, stay positive!

Does anyone know how many seats are offered? Pace had a very limited amount of seats that unfortunately I didn't get in. So sad, but hoping for NYU to accept me. Also, if we hear back late does that mean bad news? Do the accepted people get told first.

Sorry to hear about Pace; I am sure that as disappointing, but don't give up. I am rooting for you!

According to other threads and some light research, the number per accepted cohort is ~200 students. I do not know exactly how many applicants they have, but I imagine, perhaps, between 500-1200, based on the reports of similar programs.

Hearing back late is not bad news; it is difficult to understand their processes. It may have to do with which students have the most complete packages (as in, transcripts, LORs, etc., all recieved), or it may have to do with initial applicant ratings. One thread mentioned they learned that students were separated into three categories, top performers, mid-range performers and low-range performers; this student was told that mid-range applicants hear back anywhere between first notice and the end of November. I have not confirmed this myself, so I am unsure as to the validity of it all.

Accepted people hear back in batches; usually Fridays.

I'm getting so nervous! The waiting is killing me! Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we hear soon!!

haha its the nurses in us- always insisting on double checking... some people would find us caring individuals, others may call it OCD.. either way, I feel you so we're in the same boat :p

So I just got an email from NYU and it's a correction email in regards to their first email on the CCS profile. I almost pooed my pants :roflmao:
