Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!
I haven’t either and from previous threads it seems like the idea that something will happen once “checklist disappears” is not accurate. Some people heard the day it disappeared, some heard a week after, days afters and even weeks after. If I had to take a guess, I think we are now ranked. I think they have accepted candidates that they strongly want and will now start working down the list based on other criteria and according to deposit commitments or seat releases.
Hi everyone!
I am 22 years old and I am currently waiting to hear back from nursing programs for the upcoming Fall 2021 semester as a second-degree student. I'm really only waiting on NYU's 15-Month ABSN program as I already got accepted by LIU Brooklyn's Regular 2-Year BSN program. The tuition between these two schools are relatively close in range (roughly 20k a semester). I'm not really confident about getting into NYU even though that is my dream school and I'm currently conflicted about whether or not I should just wait another year to retake certain pre-reqs and reapply for the round of applications in the Spring/fall 2022.
I'm only saying this because I only applied to 3 schools for the Fall and I didn't give myself more options to choose from (I feel like I rushed it and only applied to certain programs that did not require the TEAS). If I am going to pay the same amount to go to a school that I am less enthusiastic about (LIU), I feel like I'd rather wait and reapply to more options? But many people are telling me that I should be grateful that I even got into anything... so I'm not sure if I should just stick with it and just finish nursing school earlier than waiting.
These are my stats: Undergrad GPA = 3.12
Prereqs: A&P 1/2, Microbiology, Nutrition, Stats, Psych, Sociology = As
Chem 1 = C, Chem Lab = B
My letters of recommendation are from the physician and site manager from the private clinic that I currently work in as a Medical Assistant (been there since July 2020 roughly 9 months now) and I also volunteered in Bellevue Hospital during the Summer of 2018.
Is there anyone that is currently in LIU Brooklyn's Nursing program that can give me some insight on the program as well as what my chances are for getting into NYU (I heard they're pretty holistic when it comes to applications...) or any general advice for what I should do? I just feel so overwhelmed and need some guidance.

All I can say is it HAS happened. People have gotten into NYU with a lower GPA, and with a C in pre reqs. No one on here has any idea how admissions committee works. However I don’t think you rushed, I think you made your first move towards your goal, and you are soooo young that you have time in case this round is not your lucky one. I would say take the TEAS when you can to have it done and if you can retake CHEM, go for it.
I wish I was your age and could start from zero, so my best advice is try getting more experience and apply again and again. Pace and Mercy have similar pre reqs. ? good luck! Rooting for ya!!

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I guess I'm just letting the anxiety get to my head because I've been checking the application portal every day for updates LOL but I really appreciate it! ?
For those that are wondering about their checklist disappearing, my checklist disappeared 1-2 days ago and I got an email this afternoon from NYU saying that they are evaluating my application, but that certain credentials/documents are missing. I’m assuming its regarding my Summer pre-req courses.

I also feel like its so hard to track rejections because its so hard to announce it to the group when it happens. I do hope this means something, but we only have assumptions as to how they process. It still is pretty early in the process, alot of acceptances went out in May for the Fall 2020. That being said I will make sure to announce rejection if I get one as I did in the Pace thread.
Good luck everyone, hold on to all hope you got!
