Hello all,
I decided to start a thread for the NYU accelerated nursing program since I have not seen one for fall 2018:)
My undergraduate GPA was 3.6 (Social Science emphasis in Psychology)
and I applied as a non-accelerated program btw (Still need to finish Microbiology and nutrient)
Anatomy&Physiology- I am still taking them
and all other pre-reqs, I have A's!
Volunteer at Medical Center (Cardiology Department)
I received my NYU ABSN acceptance on Thursday, April 5 (email with directions to check Albert). The email was sent in the evening and I was not expecting a notification until the following day since NYU, in the past, has released decisions every Friday beginning in April. The decision letter asked for a response within two weeks. It is possible that they are waiting for that period to lapse from the first wave of accepted students before releasing further decisions. Nevertheless, I wish good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear from NYU!!
I was accepted as a non-accelerated student today. I applied before the early deadline (March 1st). I actually did my undergrad at NYU, too, majoring in psychology (~10 years ago). My GPA was around a 3.2. I still need to take (or re-take, b/c they are now expired) several pre-req's, but got a B+ and an A- in a couple pre-req courses that should still count for me. My background after undergrad was mostly in the creative arts, but fairly recently I started working as a certified nurse assistant and patient care technician. I also have a lot of volunteer and intern experience in areas relevant to health, wellness, medicine, social services, & science. Overall, I feel very lucky to have been accepted (considering it appears several others on here with better grades were not). I do believe my essay was strong.
Hi all: just wondering if anyone else had this issue. I received an email yesterday stating my decision was ready to view but when I go to Albert there is no button there for me to click. I still get that "forbidden" message. Anyway, I'm almost positive that it's a rejection letter seeing as my stats are not nearly as good as most of those posted here but I applied just for the hell of it. Also- 90K is a lot of money!!! Best wishes to all!
Hey guys, i was accepted yesterday April 17 and will be committing today! I looked at albert at around 1pm and my decision was up but did not get the email until 5pm.
My stats are: 3.5 cumulative GPA (B.S. in Integrative Neuroscience) from Binghamton
Prereq GPA: 3.8 all from Binghamton as well
I have medical receptionist experience, was really involved in school, was a laboratory intern at an embryology lab.
Had 2 letters of recommendation, 1 from a professor from a pre-req, 1 from the doctor i worked for.
I thought my essay was well written too.
Good luck everyone!!
