Hello! I'm surprised that no one has started a thread for the University of Pennsylvania 2020. I applied for the MSN Nurse Midwifery program. Anyone else applying for next year?

Joseph should be able to help or you could call your school’s registration office and explain the deadline and ask them to email you an unofficial copy. Another idea; do you have any of these unofficial transcripts in your email history? I had Emailed myself and someone else unofficial copies a few years ago and was able to get them from that email... also, the colleges you attended may be able to reactivate your log in so you can at least access the unofficial. I know it’s stressful. You have today and until the end of tomorrow to officially meet the deadline. Best of luck and let us know how it works out. If I think of anything else, I’ll let you know.

    Emory BSN-DNP 2020

Has anyone who has applied not been notified about their status? I applied by the August first priority deadline and have had no contact since. They had said it would take longer than the MSN applications to get decisions.. I’ve applied to the BSN to DNP nurse midwifery program.

Yale has extended the deadline for supporting documents to November 15th. You still need to submit your application by November 1st but they will give us until November 15th to receive the GRE, references, and transcripts. By the way, I’m in the same boat with having taken the GRE on October 14th. I think It’ll work out. Best of luck!

I agree With ACoolGoose! Perfectionism can definitely be a weakness and the fact that you acknowledge that looks good. Make sure to include what you’re doing to improve that particular weakness.

I have a 3.4 undergrad GPA also. The cut off is 3.0 to apply and they look at the applications holistically, not just GPA. My impression is that if you have experience in the field for which you are applying, show in your resume and personal statements that you deserve to be admitted, and show that you would add value to the class, your GPA is less important. They know that GPA does not always equal good practitioner. Don't get discouraged about that one aspect. Show them you deserve to be there.

Barbiegirl1229, in the open house, I'm pretty sure they said not to expect decisions before mid February. They have a gathering in March for those who have been accepted so I think they try to get them out as soon as possible when they know the decisions. Maybe it will be earlier this year because they are not doing interviews, but I wouldn't depend on that. It's hard to wait, especially when other admitted schools are waiting for a commitment.

Reminder to everyone, Vandey says to get everything in by November 1st to be considered for the priority deadline, which they stressed will most likely be the only deadline. They take admissions on a rolling basis after Nov 1st, but said it would be rare to be accepted if materials come in after the deadline. Materials include transcripts and letters of recommendation. Once the application is submitted, they update it as transcripts come in so you'll be able to see what has been received. Anyone else glad they don't require the GRE anymore? They also said they don't do interviews anymore starting this application cycle so we really need to represent ourselves in our writing and resume. Good luck everyone! I'm working on my personal statement now.

Regarding the letters of recommendation, Dr. Korevec told me "You can submit up to 4. The system will only let you enter three and the 4th will have to be uploaded." but it looks like they specifically say not to upload Letter of Rec into the uploads page. Anyone else have any luck with further explanation?

Barbiegirl1229, I do not know their acceptance rate but they did say that since they discontinued requiring the GRE, their application rates have increased a lot. Coupled with the fact that they are tied for first in the nation for CNM programs, the CNM program is very competitive. They are really looking for candidates that match their mission and values so spend time looking at them and show in your mission statement how your career goals align with their overall mission. That way they can see whether your goals would be a good fit for their program.

I just attended Vanderbilt's fall open house for the 2020 year and I'm really excited to be applying! I'm hoping to connect with other Vandey applicants so we can offer support and info along this process. I am applying to the post BSN dual CNM/ FNP program.
