NYU ABSN Fall 2018

Published

Hello all,

I decided to start a thread for the NYU accelerated nursing program since I have not seen one for fall 2018:)

Sorry to hear that, you will get in! I also received a rejection letter from NYU today. This has been a peculiar application process. Did anyone else receive a rejection letter today?

I just got the email----i was not accepted

you got an email? did it show on your albert? im sorry, did you apply anywhere else?

if you dont mind me asking? what were your stats? when did you apply?

yes i got the email n it directed me to the albert site. No i didnt apply anywhere else, my pre-reqs (growth in development n nutrition) was still missing which i plan to take over this summer .

Anyone else know of any NYC/NJ schools that has a hollistic approach?? (GPA) wise

This waiting, omg it's unbearable. I got accepted to MCPHS Boston and I have until May 9th to accept their offer. I really hope to hear back from NYU before that.

I saw it in albert earlier today and just received the email now. My weighted undergrad gpa is about 3.3. My pre-reqs were all A's with exception of Chem II (B), and I have not completed my nutrition pre-req. I did take most of my pre-reqs at a local community college for financial reasons.

I worked at a group home for folks with Autism spectrum diagnoses and also an orthopedic office for two years after that. More recently, I have been working as a med sales rep in the New York Hospitals for over 2+ years. Since November I have been working an additional weekend job assisting a client with Parkinson's Disease. I have also volunteered with New York Cares.

Not sure where the disconnect was, but it seems they are seeking someone more diverse. The rejection letter basically said I was competitive enough, but they couldn't give me a seat due to the applicant pool. It was very strange because they reviewed my app very quickly in March and the admissions person I was communicating with kind of made it seem like I was a viable candidate. I applied 3/2.

I hope this helps some people with the stress associated with this process.

I've also applied to Seton Hall and Drexel. Where else did everyone apply?

For those who recieved rejection letters, did you apply to the regular BSN or the ABSN?

JHU has a great program. I feel like you will get into NYU based on what you wrote. Do you know of any other good programs in CA?

Good luck!

There are a few different ABSN programs in CA like Mt. St. Mary's in LA, Concordia and some CSU schoos etc but those two first ones are religiously affiliated. There are other programs that arent ABSN but an Entry Nursing Master's program at places such as UCI, UCD, USD, UCSF, and so forth!

Just spoke with admissions- sounds like there will be another roll out of decisions released at the end of this week, as well as the beginning of next week!

Thanks for sharing the information
