Providence TIP Program April 2020
Hi guys! CONGRATS to all of the new nurses! I am applying for the next cohort and had a quick question. This may have been addressed, but the letters of recommendation, were they uploaded by applicants or those who wrote the letters? I am guessing the letters are supposed to be sent directly to the applicant, then the applicant uploads them to the application? Thank you! Whitney

New Grad Program Vs. LA County
Hi! I am in a similar position. Just curious which job offer you ended up taking? Was the LA County position for a correctional facility or is that another hospital? I am new to the are and trying to navigate the new grad RN process out here. Thanks and best of luck!

UCLA Summer 2020 New Grad Residency
Thank you for the update! This is super helpful. Just out of curiosity, is the job market always this competitive for New Grad RNs in the LA area? I am from the East Coast, I graduated with my BSN in November and moved here in March. I have been applying since February and I am having a hard time finding a RN position that is willing to hire a new grad. Is anyone else in the same position? I appreciate any advice and thank you in advance!

Thanks Natty!! Yeah, I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to even interview. I recently moved from another state and definitely underestimated how hard it would be to get a new graduate position out here. Also FYI, some of the residencies are on pause because of COVID-19. I appreciate the advice. Stay well!

Seton Hall ABSN 2017
Hi guys! For anyone who has attended the SHU ABSN program, can you confirm when clinicals start in the first semester? Unfortunately, I need two booster vaccines and they can only be administered 4 weeks apart. I can only get one of the vaccines. Due to this issue, I will probably not be allowed to participate in clinicals. Missing two clinicals results in failure of the course. Any advice? Has anyone experienced this dilemma? Thank you in advance.

Seton Hall ABSN 2017
Hi guys! I recently interviewed for the fall 2018 class. This is my number one choice and I am anxiously waiting to hear where I stand. Anyway, just wondering how long it took for everyone to hear back after their interviews? Also- do they email you if you have been waitlisted or rejected? Thanks in advance!

NYU ABSN Fall 2018
JHU has a great program. I feel like you will get into NYU based on what you wrote. Do you know of any other good programs in CA? Good luck!

NYU ABSN Fall 2018
I saw it in albert earlier today and just received the email now. My weighted undergrad gpa is about 3.3. My pre-reqs were all A's with exception of Chem II (B), and I have not completed my nutrition pre-req. I did take most of my pre-reqs at a local community college for financial reasons. I worked at a group home for folks with Autism spectrum diagnoses and also an orthopedic office for two years after that. More recently, I have been working as a med sales rep in the New York Hospitals for over 2+ years. Since November I have been working an additional weekend job assisting a client with Parkinson's Disease. I have also volunteered with New York Cares. Not sure where the disconnect was, but it seems they are seeking someone more diverse. The rejection letter basically said I was competitive enough, but they couldn't give me a seat due to the applicant pool. It was very strange because they reviewed my app very quickly in March and the admissions person I was communicating with kind of made it seem like I was a viable candidate. I applied 3/2. I hope this helps some people with the stress associated with this process. I've also applied to Seton Hall and Drexel. Where else did everyone apply?
