NYU ABSN Fall 2018

Hello all,

I decided to start a thread for the NYU accelerated nursing program since I have not seen one for fall 2018:)

my stuff wasnt received till about a week after so technically my application wasnt considered "complete" till about April 4. I am taking my last prereq right now, Developmental psych (lifespan). what are your stats if you dont mind me asking?

I have a 3.1 GPA

I haven't taken any prerequisite but I called and they said I could still be considered. I have volunteer experience at a psychiatrist hospital and other 3 world country volunteer experience. I have many leadership experience (VP of my sorority.. and other) I am currently a perinatal case manager and a middle school guidance counselor. I mean I'm very nervous mostly because I don't have my prerequisite but I hope they see that I'm willing to take them over the summer and first semester...

What are your stats?

"I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out because we are in the process of reviewing your nursing application and noticed that you have completed the 7 prerequisites for our accelerated program.

As such, we will need to move your application for consideration to our accelerated program. Please let us know if this is okay or if you would no longer like to be considered."

That's the email said. I think they would reject the application.

Ohh okay I think that mean are you still interested in our program if we move you to the accelerated program!

the reason they moved you to the absn is because the non-accelerated program is meant for students who will not finish their prereqs by the time they matriculate into the program

i have a ~3.3 gpa (B.S. Biology), almost all prereqs done with a prereq gpa of ~3.6, 3 really good LoRs, a well written essay and some different experiences. I am a registered EMT, i volunteered in the ER of a community hospital, I worked at a doctors office as a medical intern, I also helped with the teaching/grading of the lower division anatomy course at my university .

As people said they recived a large amount of first year applications. I think this is the reason why it takes so long for undergraduate admission process.

Just spoke with admissions- sounds like there will be another roll out of decisions released at the end of this week, as well as the beginning of next week!

How many prerequisite are you missing? And when did you apply... I applied pretty late so I think that's why I haven't heard anything back

I have all my prerequisites and applied february 28th. What are your stats so far?
