NYU ABSN Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone was applying to NYU for the ABSN program in fall 2017? I'm kind of nervous because my GPA isn't the highest since I had to work all four years to help pay for school which took away from my studying time. I do have work experience in the health care field and a little over 100 hours of health related volunteering. Also, how is everyone planning on paying for school since it is soo expensive?

It's my first time posting here, but I got in today as well!! Does anyone have any financial aid info showing up? For me, it says "award access is not available." Is this because we're accelerated students?.... Congrats to everyone that got in!! I def know the anxiety of waiting so I empathize with you guys & hope you hear back soon!

Same, I think it's because we already have a bachelor's degree. FAFSA decides whether or not we'll receive further financial aid.

Is anybody else worried about the expensive tuition?

Congrats everyone! Just got accepted myself! Besides paying to hold your spot and accepting financial aid, is there anything else we should be doing? I need nutrition and want to take it over the summer not sure when i should contact them about it or if they'll contact me.

Classes start on September 18th so I think you need to take nutrition over the summer in order to submit your final transcript before then. Congrats!

Hey! Did your financial aid info show up right away? Mine says it's not accessible...

I'm taking nutrition online at U of Rochester. Google "university of rochester nursing classes online" and click the first link. I confirmed with NYU if they would accept it before I enrolled. I'm pretty sure it's offered in the summer. You can start within a few days of enrollment and you literally just pay & you're enrolled. Congrats!

Once you pay your deposit, you'll receive an email with all of that information. I haven't made a decision whether or not to enroll yet.

Hey guys ! So I applied on September and thought the earlier the better. I emailed and called them telling them LIU's program wants me to pay a deposit by May 1st. Of course they said I have to wait 😤.my gps is a 2.93 due to being a ex-pharmacy major gaining two F's :/ :/ but I just received deans list and all my pre-refs are all As and Bs. Hopefully they consider me . Anyone else here applied with a similar situation and got accepted?

Weekend on the Square is coming up this Saturday (22 April) if you're interested but it's not mandatory. I just accepted my admission today so still waiting for more information. :)

What's Weekend on the Square?

Weekend on the Square is coming up this Saturday (22 April) if you're interested but it's not mandatory. I just accepted my admission today so still waiting for more information. :)

What's Weekend on the Square?

Looks like a general tour/information session. It's for the whole university but they split the colleges up so some attend Saturday and some attend Sunday but it's nothing specific to the ABSN program. Here's the link, hopefully it shows up: Weekend on the Square

Once you accept your admission offer you can go to Events and register for it- although it's not showing up for me when I checked for some reason.

Mine didn't show up right away either; I got accepted about a week ago and when I logged in today I saw it was posted. But if you want to double check everything just to be safe this is what they recommend:

  • If you believe that you have already filed the FAFSA and have not been awarded federal financial aid, please log in to the FAFSA and be sure that you included NYU's school code (002785) and that all signatures on the FAFSA are complete. Also, if the social security number that you entered on the FAFSA does not match the social security number entered on the Common Application, you will need to reach out to the Office of Financial Aid to update your account.
