NYU ABSN Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone was applying to NYU for the ABSN program in fall 2017? I'm kind of nervous because my GPA isn't the highest since I had to work all four years to help pay for school which took away from my studying time. I do have work experience in the health care field and a little over 100 hours of health related volunteering. Also, how is everyone planning on paying for school since it is soo expensive?

No, your post was not discouraging at all! I meant that it was disheartening that after providing the syllabus it seems to go back into the system and take weeks before decision. It's all good!

Hi Guys,

I too applied for Fall 2017 at NYU for the accelerated bachelors of science nursing program. I just got accepted to the program on Friday afternoon. I have faith in each and every one of you and are sure you too will get in. Please let me know if you guys need further questions to be answered or any help in terms of knowing where you stand. I can do my best to advise you guys. I was supposed to get my admission decision around mid June once I had my 1st bachelors degree in my hand which was surprising for NYU.

I was also interested to see if anyone else got into NYU for Fall 2017 so far and if we can possibly live together so we can have our classes together, study together occasionally and have someone around. It will be nice to go to clinical and do stuff around NY when we have some free time together. I am more for moving in with nursing majors than others so we have similar schedules and so on. :) I am coming from California so it is a new place for me. I am looking to get my own room but I don't mind sharing bathrooms as long as it can be pretty clean haha :) Really hope to look forward from you guys towards finding a potential nursing housemate :) We can start looking for rooms together in an apartment that has some extra rooms available to us.

A little about me: I'm 22 (will be 23 in july), friendly, outgoing, very clean/ organized, academically driven. :)

Hi iztobs, I agree with blackberrymousse in terms of marking the application complete. I just got accepted tot he accelerated program at NYU for Fall 2017 and they did not send me any of those emails, just the acceptance email. I have faith in you! Don't give up! :)

Hi nursesab, I just got my acceptance the same day as you too! Congratulations! So excited to finally be starting!! haha I was wondering if you are interested in housing together, just because I would like to find housemates who are nursing majors so its easier and similar to us :) I am looking for my own room and don't mind sharing a bathroom as long as its pretty clean. I was thinking we can search for apartments that have leases for 2 rooms or so? I was holding off on asking about the roommate situation until I was confirmed accepted, but hey why not? Anyone who is looking for a roomie, please feel free to PM me because should I be accepted at NYU I need to find a roommate(s) situation as well. I will need my own room but I don't mind sharing a bathroom with males or females, I have been roommates & shared bathrooms with both and never had any issues. I'm pretty quiet, very laid back, and basically a book nerd who doesn't party (studying is fun for me so we can study together if you want) but I've been told I'm very friendly and easy to talk to lol. I will not be bringing any pets but I love all animals and am not allergic. I don't smoke or drink (I don't mind if my roommates drink socially or smoke outside). Only thing is I'm not 420-friendly, sorry. :/

I'd be down for a roommate as well! I'm 28, don't smoke/rarely drink, pretty laid back & quiet. I don't currently have any pets but I am interested in getting a small/medium sized dog once I get a feel for how much free time I'll have in the program. I'm also definitely used to living with people having just finished an active duty enlistment so I know how to clean :) And if anyone likes to run I am always looking for new running partners to keep me motivated!

I'm looking for a place not directly by NYU in the hopes of saving some money and taking public transit into school every day. However I'll be new to the city so I have to do some research on affordable areas.

I'm also a reservist in the Navy so not 420 friendly... gotta be ready for those monthly drug tests!
