Hi everyone!
I was just wondering if anyone was applying to NYU for the ABSN program in fall 2017? I'm kind of nervous because my GPA isn't the highest since I had to work all four years to help pay for school which took away from my studying time. I do have work experience in the health care field and a little over 100 hours of health related volunteering. Also, how is everyone planning on paying for school since it is soo expensive?
Idk about y'all, but the financial aid for NYU is not great at all. For other schools I received grants but then they offered loans that cover the entire program, while NYU (for me) its still 20k out of pocket plus living expenses. Thought the university would have offered more loan options. Very expensive
Hey guys! Congrats to everyone who has gotten accepted so far. I just got my decision letter today and I'm pretty relieved after being waitlisted at UPenn. I submitted my application on March 5 and received my email today at 4PM central.
For anyone concerned about not having all their pre-req's completed, I'm currently enrolled in A&P II and Microbiology and it seems that didn't affect anything. I also only submitted one LoR because my application was a bit last minute and I since completed my bachelor's back in 2009 I just went with one professional reference rather than an academic one.
I'd definitely be interested in a Facebook group as well :) The only other school I applied to that I haven't heard from was Duquesne but since I'm from Philadelphia I'm definitely leaning toward NYU since it's much closer to home. As for finances, I just completed an enlistment in the USN so I'll be using the Post 9/11 GI Bill- however it won't cover the full cost since this is a private school so I need to do some more research before I can commit. I was so worried about even getting in I hadn't really thought about all that yet.
Best of luck to everyone!
