NYU ABSN Fall 2015

Published

Anyone planning to apply to NYU ABSN program for fall 2015. Since I'm in CA, there's no way I could attend the information session. What important things were mentioned at the information session?

@alypol is your sister in hs or in college?

does everyone have everything checked off?

my transcripts are not checked off but I asked an admissions officer and he said they could still review the application with an unofficial transcript (which I sent) but once I complete my degree I would have to send an official one

My transcripts are still coming up unchecked but I did receive confirmation from admissions that they have my transcripts. Good luck to all! =)

Mine's are checked but I haven't heard. Worried..

@kmichellex she's in highschool, so it seems that traditional admissions has happened before absn.

make sure your undergrad school sends your official transcript as soon as your degree is processed.

everything on my albert has been checked off since thursday last week. i wonder how much earlier other applicants applied if they've already gotten acceptances.

That is exactly how I feel!!! Lol they have me on such a cliffhanger ...I've been trying to hold off on enrolling in the program I was accepted to in hopes of hearing from NYU but they are taking way toooo long

I've only just begun applying to schools, so I haven't even been accepted anywhere yet...the odds of me getting NYU are low. But I was too excited not to apply. I'm hoping they'll be like, "Yes! Where has this average girl with a mediocre GPA been all this time?" But sadly, they probably won't. lol

@kaygee stay positive! There are so many people who get accepted with a lower gpa while those with a higher gpa get rejected. You never know what will happen..... Hang in there

I agree! I can't say I had the most stellar GPA when applying (definitely did better in my prerequisites than my undergrad GPA!), but it really seems like the school looks at the candidate from a holistic approach.

Also, I applied back in January for this fall semester (lol, #overeager), so I'm thinking that may be why I heard back early. I do think they send out notifications on Tuesdays and Thursdays from reading past year's posts. Next week will bring some good news! Everyone enjoy their weekend!! :)

actually i have two friends who got in:

3.1 GPA

3.4 GPA

NYU (from my friend who already went there and knows how they accept students) doesn't hold GPA as highly as others. plus it's a private school and it's expensive a lot of people who get in decline and also they do take a long time to get back to students so they have a lot of spots that don't get filled.

Did two people just get in this year with those GPAs? They really have me on the edge of my seat waiting to hear back from them. I think I applied in November lol

they just graduated. they said people in the program had many different ranges of GPA's 3.0-4.0's

they said the most common GPA ranges are like ~3.3-3.7
